More and more, we see Vietnam Vets dying off. A special breed who did not have their service recognized or appreciated until only recent years. I hope Tom felt that appreciation for his service to his country before he died. Willl try to be there to honor him. Tom, thank you for your service to your country.

Rest in peace. I too, thank you for your service to the nation.

I can't make this mission. My mother has eye surgery that day, and I am the caretaker.

Sorry Gary I could not make it in time. I left home here in Aloha at 0725 and was still on the 26 freeway at the 217 fwy exit at 0820. Since I was still about 25 miles from the staging area I knew I would not make the services in time. I'll just start out earlier next time. Hope you had enough PGR members.

**************RIDE REPORT***************
We had 8 hard core members this morning, which included 5 bikes and 3 cages.
It was a very nice flag line and the family was very thankful that we took the time to Honor their Loved one. Tom served in the United States Air Force. We met at the Fred Meyers at Mill Plain and I-205 at 8:30 had a ride briefing and then proceeded to the Service. We did a Flag line and greeted the guests and family. In the Memorial Program the family stated that they appreciated us being there.
Again thanks to all that made this mission.

I think I had the shortest ride home and I'm soaked to the bone. I hope the rest made it home OK. It was great to see PGR once again well represented at services for an American veteran. As Gary said, the family was really appreciative of us being there. Mr. Hlavac's wife made it a point to stop and thank each of us individually. It's moments like that that make me proud to be a member of PGR.

Once again my hat is off to those hardy souls that rode their bikes to this wet gathering. This was a man who had many friends and a loving family that thanked each of us personally for our presence. An interesting footnote was that almost everyone attending, and there were many, was dressed in the "Uniform of the day" which consisted of a plaid shirt and blue jeans. This was a nice touch and created a very relaxed atmosphere as the family felt Tom would like I presume. Rest in peace, Tom, your tour of duty is over now and you are on eternal R&R in the best place possible, even better than Singapore. Gary, you have evolved into a Ride Captain par excellence and I will be glad to ride on any mission you lead. Your grasp of the PGR's mission is right on target in my book. Thank you for all your efforts. Bikerbabe, Lady Godiva, NKinler (AKA Cabbie), Jim and Papa John, you can all serve on my squad anytime. I hope you are all warm and dry as I type this.
