It is with a sad heart that I have to tell you that we've lost a Brother. I've been trying to contact Mrs. Houck all week, and when I got home from Deltona this evening I had a phone message from her asking if we would be able to ride for her husband Mike this Saturday, 11/04/06. There's going to be a Memorial Service at 2:00PM and a 6 mile ride afterward to a friend's house for a celebration of Mike's life. She is requesting that we take part in any part of this that we can. Please post here if you'll be able to make this mission. I know this is really short notice, but I'd appreciate it if we could honor this widow's request.
*************************************************************
Houck, Michael Dion, 45, of Spring Hill, died Thursday (Oct. 26, 2006) at Halifax Memorial Hospital, Daytona Beach, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Born in New Brunswik, N.J., he came here 38 years ago from East Brunswick, N.J. He was a truck driver for Keys Concrete and a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. He was a former coach for the Shady Hills Little League. Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Julie A.; a son, Michael Richard Houck, Spring Hill; a daughter, Janet Lynn, White Plains, N.Y; three sisters, Patrice Schadt, Tarpon Springs, Shelley Murrell, Hudson, and Tracey Davis, Starke; 10 nephews; and six nieces. | I offer my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of this fine American Patriot. It is sad when we lose a service member to conflict and it is even worse to lose a brother. I regret that I will not be able to make this mission due to a previous commitment but I will be thinking of the family's. |
