Mission Date: Monday, 6 November 2006
Location: Garden City, KS

Seth Algrim, 22, a former Garden City resident who graduated from Garden City High School in 2003, was killed Monday during a Marine training exercise at Camp Pendleton in California. Algrim, who had been in the Marines for a little more than three years, had recently visited his family in Garden City while on leave. A large group of us were honored to have met Seth and his family when we rode to his home to welcome him home and wish him well in the future. Shortly thereafter he returned to Camp Pendleton where, after a reenlistment, he planned to continue his career attached to the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force. Algrim, who had served in Iraq and Afghanistan, was to begin training in his new MOS on Monday. Algrim's personal awards include a Combat Action Ribbon, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Say a prayer for the Algrim family and our brother Seth.

This is a young man that we welcomed home about 2 weeks ago. He was on leave for two weeks before starting his second tour. He was to train for the Special Forces. Seth’s mother contacted me and wants the PGR with her every step of the way. We are looking at early to mid next week for the funeral.

==============================

When a mans heart is full of deceit it burns up, dies and a dark shadow falls over his soul. From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse, a wrong that must be righted. We look to the skies for a vindicator, someone to strike fear into the black hearts of the same men who created him. The battle between good and evil has begun. Against an army of shadows comes the Dark Warrior, the purveyor of good, with a voice of silence and a mission of justice. - Steve "Sting" Borden

First of all to those who were @ Seth's welcome home  I would like to say thank you. I'm  Seth's oldest living cousin & I had the pleasure of watching this wonderful man grow up from a sweet & loving little boy to the Great Man I believe that he was. Second, I want all of you to know that when he returned to California before he unpacked his suitcase he hung the flag that was given to him by the patriot gaurd. He was very proud to have all of you there that Sunday & was honored that he was given your flag. To everyone "Thank You" you have all made a difference in our lives as his family. Thank you for your support of our troops.

I will be speaking with Seth's mother late this afternoon and we both hope to have more details by then. All we really know for sure right now is that Seth may be arriving in Wichita on Sat. and will be moved to Garden City soon after. There is talk of a possible escort from Wichita to Garden City. The funeral will be held at the United Methodist Church sometime early to mid next week. That's it for now.

The AmericInn is offering a special rate for PGR. 60.00 for 1 or 2 people. They have a great breakfast and lighted parking so your bike will be safe. I'm still looking for a better rate but thats not bad.

My very sencere condolences for the loss of LCpl Algrim. Very regreatfully, I will not be able to attend the services due to a Dr.'s appointment that I can't miss. I was planning to attend as I consider the circumstances of your loss as very special, not that any of the losses are less special, but this one struck me much.
As I stated, your Son, Friends and family as well as all his brother's and sister's at Arm's will miss him and I am sure the rest of the PGR will stand for those of us that are unable to attend.
God Bless, and may the Road Angle's watch over you and all that care. Tailgunner
