To the family of Sgt Bostic you have my heart felt condolences and my regret that I will not be able to attend this mission but please know I am there in my thoughts and praying for you.

LIFE IS NOT A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN A PRETTY, WELL PRESERVED BODY, BUT RATHER TO SKID IN BROADSIDE, THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT, AND LOUDLY PROCLAIMING
WOW WHAT A RIDE !!!!!

My deepest condolences to the family and friends. I regret I cannot participate as will be in Albq. NM for a meeting but I am sure others will step forward and show the respect and honor this hero deserves. I am familiar with the area and am sure everyone will be glad to have you there. There is a long military history in Hawthorne.

Pat and Patty,

We feel your sorrow at this hour. Mere words cannot convey our admiration to Kens courage to be on the front lines of defense for our country as well as the people in Iraq who are fighting for their freedom from oppression. As a 20 year military veteran myself, he is my brother. As a Law Enforcement Officer in Nevada, he is also my brother, as well as the two of you are my brother and sister. Ken will continue to live in our hearts, as he is now patrolling the streets of heaven while being ever vigilant awaiting the time when we meet him again. Because of Ken and countless others like him, we live in a safer world. He served with Honor, dignity, and courage. As a soldier, and as a Law Enforcement Officer.

My family and the family at the Sheriff's Office in Tonopah love you guys. We will Never forget.

To all in Nevada, thank you from the bottom of my heart....if there was any possible way for me to be there arm to arm, I would have been,,,,thank you all!Today we lay Sgt. Bostic to rest.

a message from a fellow officer:

If you are reading this, stop for a
moment, think about Sgt. Bostic and the sacrifice he made for you and
me, then think about his family and keep them in your prayers. That I
am aware of, there will be approximately 15 representatives of the
Blue Knights at the funeral and, because the protesters say they will
be there, there should be about 300 other motorcycle enthusiasts  there
as well. We will not only show our support to the family, we will also
act as a human shield to protect the family from the site of the
protesters. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers and thank you
to the Patriot Guard Riders for being there!

God Bless each and every one of you,

MISSION COMPLETE – Stand down Sgt. Bostic

This was my first mission as a Captain, and my FIRST mission. I must start by saying a very sincere THANK YOU to all who attended and showed your support. I got the opportunity to mingle with you all and shake a few hands. My apologies to those I did not get to meet. Although things did not go exactly as I planned, a good plan always ends up with a twist in it and I feel that the mission was a great success.

Sgt. Bostic and my son are only six months apart. My son is on active duty, waiting for word of deployment, as is his wife. Sgt. Bostic’s Mother and Stepfather, Patty and Pat, are both friends of mine. We first met in 1992 when we attended and completed the Police Academy together.

This mission was accomplished with no issues to be dealt with. Many stood by at the school during the ceremonies where there was only room to stand outside the doors to the gymnasium and catch a few words. Members of the Nevada Patriot Guard went ahead to the cemetery where they presented Sgt. Bostic with an honor salute as he was brought in.

Between the High School and the Cemetery, the precession went through town with most everyone that was not in the precession standing on the sidewalk with flags, salutes and hands over their hearts. I don’t believe there was anyone in the town that was not part of this day. Just like at the gymnasium, there was not a single protester to be seen at the cemetery. When the services were complete, I was able to briefly talk to Pat and Patty to let them know I would be coming back out to see them soon (to present the Patriot Guard plaque). This is when I finally lost my composure. After we shed few tears together, both of them repeatedly thanked me, and ALL of you for coming and making sure everything went all right.

Now Patriot Guard Riders, including Nevada, I stand and salute YOU for helping me make sure my family was able to have a peaceful and respectful day for their young man, Sgt. Bostic, to be laid to rest.
