Before our threads went "POOF" we were tracking Tim's coming home. We got an email this morning from Tim's father.

Our brother will be coming home this week:  We are looking at a Welcome Home Nov. 4, 5, or 6th. Depending on the weather. Tim is riding his bike accross country from Calif. to come home. As more information comes in we will keep you informed.

Welcome home Tim, can't wait to see you...

I had thought about that but Dear Tim, has been sort of off course and is really not following any straight direction. You never know which way the wind is going to take him. Today he is driving the Dragons Tail. I am in hopes that we will get more news form the family soon.

Christine, is he an expert helmsmen? Then they need to pull his qualls ROFL Instead of the 'sea snake' I can see his trail as the 'scoot snake' LOL

Ahhhhh, Dragon's Tail or 'Tail of the Dragon' - what an AWESOME ride; in fact they had a documentary on it last night on SPEED channel. We rode it this past summer and it was a memory we will never forget!

TIM, if you read this, please RIDE SAFE!!! We are all eager to see you when you set the special sea detail in Maine and finally moor up!!

......ok, enough of the nautical talk! We're really looking forward to your homecoming.

Christine, thank you so much for the updates!

Hi everyone, our ride Captain down south asked if I would step up and lead the welcome home ride for Dusty Dog, from New Hampshire into Maine, not far just S.Berwick.We will be meeting him and his Dad and friends at the Porthsmouth traffic circle, and then riding to his house. This young man rode cross country ,.it would be nice if we could go a couple exits North. They have food and refreshments at the house.Did I mention food! Some of us will meet at Civic Center, then ride to Sears at the Mall in Portland ,to pick up anyone from that area then get back on 95 for a nice ride to the circle. It would be great if we could have a good showing,Cars are most certainly welcome,as we all may be in them.Track this post for definate times as I get them...Thank you Pushboats P.S. Anyone else have a better idea on meeting places or suggestions please speak up,I'm all ears,as well as all thumbs...

Well, whip me with a wet noodle, but I went to the Special Missions area as Sam suggested above and I'll be a son-of-a-gun if I could find any reference to DustyDog's return to Maine. Have you noticed how cryptic our thread titles can be? Man, we've got to stop trying to fit it all into the title. KISS is a good principle to follow most times.

Anyway, do we have any idea how many riders will be heading to Portsmouth? Sure would be nice to get a nice little group together for what could possibly be the last ride of the season. Just think of what it would mean to DustyDog. I know OldScol is going. He called me last night and tried to twist my arm to join him. You know what? Think I'm gonna do just that too. The weather is going to be on the cool side, BUT its gonna be sunny!!! We can make frequent stops for coffee and potty breaks along the way. No need to brutalize ourselves. Sounds like we won't need to get an early start either.....think John mentioned something about being able to leave around 10am or so.

Be great if we could get some folks to meet at the Civic Center. Then some more folks to meet that group at the Mall in Topsham, then Portland. Next thing you know we'd have an honest-to-goodness group ride happening here.
Give it some thought folks. Think about what it would mean to a fellow PGR brother just returning home after being gone for so long to see so many caring individuals coming to join him on the last leg of his journey home. Wow! Don't know about you, but I'm psyching myself up.......LOL

I might be able to provide Cage coverage on Sunday. I have to completely finish moving everything by this weekend and am borrowing a friend's truck to do so. I would imagine that I will really be in need of the fellowship come Sunday. If anyone doesn't have anything better to do on Saturday.....give me a hollar and I'll let you move some boxes!! Ha...right... I have a shed to clean out and some left over junk in garage and cellar. If I don't move it by this weekend, I'm going to have to burn it.

Since I no longer have computer access at home, could someone keep me posted on the plans for Sunday? I've been really out of the loop and Christine has tried very hard to keep me informed but I'd hate to miss out on this if I can come. Thanks a bunch -- I miss seeing you all!

Thanks Carl ! You brat ! Pay back ! Will there be a stop in Topsham to pick up riders ? If there could be that would be great ! Topsham Fair Mall by Hannaford is a good meeting spot . If not I'll connect where ever . There are PGR riders around here that haven't gone on many missions due to work schedules, so trying to round them up .
Thanks , Kaye in Topsham

WOW! We're beginning to get a good group together. This is going to be great!

Its my understanding that Sam should soon be hearing from Tim about an estimated arrival time in Portsmouth. Sam will then post that information or pass it onto John. John is actually now spearheading this mission on Sam's behalf. Once we have that information, we will be better able to determine our staging times and meeting times.
Those of us leaving from Augusta will plan on picking up the group meeting at the Topsham Fair Mall. Then we'll plan on swinging by the Sear's at the Portland Mall to pick up the folks gathering there or perhaps we could meet those folks on the highway at a rest stop instead. That might be more convenient. Isn't there a rest stop on the 95 just south of Portland? Probably could use a cup of coffee by the time we get there anyway. Doesn't much matter at this point because I don't think we've got anyone staging up in Portland yet. Least nobody has posted anything yet. Come'on you southern Maine folks.
So, untill we get the expected arrival time everyone will just have to make a point of checking here for updates. Fraid that's the best we can do at the moment. Details will be coming......I promise.....lol

Good Morning All,

I sent an email to Tim last night since we have been going back and forth via email for a few months now and no answer yet from him on eta, Sam Gerry is in charge of staying in contact with Tim's family here in the state so I am sure once he knows more he'll get that posted and if I hear from Tim today I'll forward that onto Sam and John so they can get this all put together.

So watch for Sam or John's post with all the information and see you all on Sunday.

Way to go Lisa & Dan! It will be great to see the two of you again.

I assume you'll be joining John for the ride into Augusta. Maybe, unless we have folks already planning on meeting at the Civic Center (any of you out there?), we should simply gather at my place again for a pit stop and hot coffee? What do those of you reading this thread think of that? Course this is for the folks who would normally meet up at the Civic Center anyway. If there are only a few of us, and you all already know where my home is, shoot lets just meet there for coffee and a bite. Beats standing in a parking lot. I'll provide the coffee and stuff.

So far I've got Carl, John, Lisa, Dan and myself originating from Augusta. Kaye, Nancy and Christine & Rich we'll pick up in Topsham. Nobody has chimed in from Portland yet that I'm aware of. Does that sound right John?

I'm not only excited to be riding with you all again, but this will be my first ride with Nancy! I can hardly wait for that. Been looking forward to our first ride for quite some time Nancy. See you all Sunday.

I knew there was one down there somewhere. I'm sure we'll be just about ready for a break by the time we get there. That would be an excellent place to stop and rest before making the final push into Portmouth. Do you want to plan on meeting us there? Course we'll have to watch the time table and you'll have to coordinate your arrival there to be just ahead of us coming from the north.....but it's doable.

If you know of other members from your area, please extend an invitation to them as well. Be nice to have a good turn out.

In any event, ride safe and see you Sunday.

Hey Joe....how the heck are you? Fantastic that you'll be joining us! Once we know what the time table is, and you tell me about what time you'll be arriving at the CC, I could swing by, pick you up, and lead you to my place where we could await the arrival of the rest of the gang in relative comfort.....lol

By the way.....you haven't missed a thing. We are just now beginning to formulate our plans. Course everything is dependent upon Tim's estimated arival time in Portmouth. I'm hoping we'll have that info soon so we can finalize our plans. Until then, we sit back and watch this thread buddy.

Don, your hospitality is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Meeting at your home is no problem (actually easier since we don't have to go through half of August-er We will wait for final word. Dan is in the process of getting someone else to 'take the calls' while on this mission.
