Mission complete. Home safe in Salamanca after a 3 hours ride in the rain. I want to thank all for the support we provided to Bill in this mission. I am sure that Sgt Knier's family appreciated us being there to support them. All seemed to go well even with the short notice, week day, and a little weather. I will write the mission report and have it posted tomorrow. Again Thanks for the support from all that attended. Thanks to the PA state police for their presence, local law enforcement, Richard, local preacher (sorry I forgot your name) and the turn out from the local community. Great job by all.

Everyone,
Thanks for attending this mission. It came about very quickly and we needed people to step up and be there.
A special thanks goes to Bill Christian. It was his first mission and he accepted the challenge of being a temporary ride captain for this mission.
A special thanks also goes to David, aka winger3615. He is a Ride Captain from NY State who rode down to assist with this mission. He was a great help to Bill and passed on what he has learned from his experiences as an RC to make this a successful mission. David, please accept my personal thanks for being there and for writing this great ride report.
Thanks also goes to Richard of Bradford, Pa. He has attended missions with me and I appreciate his enthusiasm for the PGR and what we stand for.

Thanks to all that made me feel welcome, it was a long ride to and from little old Myerstown, PA but a small price to pay to help Honor and Respect Sgt. Knier and his family. Kellie and Bill you should be very proud of your home town, they showed what small town America is all about. Not a protester within miles, can you imagine being a protester and showing up in Wellsboro yesterday and thinking of pulling a protest sign out of your car on the main street. Again, thanks to everyone that welcomed me, not good with remembering names, I do remember Dave, Bill, Joan, but again my thanks to all. Bob |

It really was a great mission and my first! Let me say that I am proud to say that Wellsboro is my home town and they really showed up for our fallen hero. It was emotional for me since I went to school with Sgt. 1st Class Knier's wife and their children are about the same ages as my own 3. It really got me to thinking about what I would do if that were my husband. It was hard when his mother came out and spoke to us. I'm emotional to begin with but I did pretty good yesterday. I was amazed at how many people shook our hands and thanked us for being there. I was so proud of what we were doing and for the sacrifice this soldier and his family made, all for us! The day was beautiful and good company was plenty. Thanks for making my first mission memorable!

Mission report for Sgt. 1st Class Tony L. Knier, 31, of Sabinsville, Pa.
Acting Ride Captain for this mission was Bill Christian from Wellsboro. Assistance was provided by David Cullen from Salamanca, NY and Richard Getch, from Bradford, PA.
It was a good showing considering a very short notice mission on a weekday with rain forecasted for the afternoon. We started with 4 people but we kept coming and ended up with about 24 people at the services. We had members from as far away as Harrisburg, Williamsport, and a group from Genesse, who are interested in joining.
We had 9 to 12 members standing at the viewing from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. During the viewing, local supporters asked if they could join us and we were pleased to have them stand with us to honor Sgt Knier. About 2 PM, Sgt Knier was transported to the Annex in town for the services with a procession of just the family members. We left just before the procession so we could be in place with flags up for the family arriving at the Annex. At that time, we had about 14 bikes and three cages. There was excellent local support for the transport with people lining the streets with flags and signs. Also, excellent support from law enforcement that was always present at the viewing, the service and traffic control. There was a very strong presence from the PA State Police.
Upon arriving at the Annex, most of the friends were all ready in the building with other locals and out of towners gathering outside to support the family. We formed two flag lines for the family to drive through and then reset the flag line behind the hearse. We kept the line until the service ended about 1 ½ hours later. All this time, there were about 50 locals standing behind us, most holding small flags. Again, really good local support for this family.
I want to thank all the members who attended, law enforcement, local support groups, local veterans’ organizations, local Pastor, locals who stood with us on the flag line at the viewing and the group that stood with us at the services.
Two Special Thanks: The first to lady who brought her three children to hold a flag at the services for just ‘10 more minutes’ that turned into an hour and half. The second to the local lady, just for being there, to whom I gave my POW pin. Her brother never returned from Viet Nam.
Again, thanks to all and ride safe.
