Thank you CIWS for posting that picture. I had looked for just such a picture for some time. We are on the white bike in the foreground ! I printed the picture for our scrapbook.

Well Guys and Gals this one has topped them all! (For me anyway) Heres the whole story: Mission #5 for me #1 for my wife. We got the mission confirmation for Tech. Sgt. Patrick Lee Shannon USAF, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma a couple of weeks ahead of time, this time. Plenty of time to get off work. Mission date, 4-15-06. Made our motel reservations... before staging area known, (on the far side of town from mission area) of course. We planned on going up on the 14th Friday to be fresh for Saturday's mission. Heard from a couple people in our area wanting to meet up for the trip to OKC. We left Overton, Texas at 7:30am, headed to Canton to meet another. From there we headed to Denton to hook up with another group going up early. On to OKC we went, arrived at our motel around 5:30pm. Decided to go see the Murrah Federal bombing memorial, that was a moving experience in itself. On the way back to our motel got lost (the first time) for a while but finally made it back for a good nights sleep. Saturday morning checked out and headed to the staging area-on the other side of town, (Lost again #2) finally spotted a group of bikes and decided if they were lost we would be lost with them! (they were not) Opon arriving at the staging area, it was an amazing site there had to be over 100 bikes there already. We were directed into line then mingled a bit and took photos. It was not long before we were totally engulfed by bikes, by the time we pulled out I say there had to be a minimum of 1,000 Patriot Guard Riders all ther for... Viet Nam Vet. MIA 1963 Patrick Lee Shannon USAF and family. The ride to the cemetary was another one for the books, the oncomming traffic all stopped, many getting out of their cars and placing their hands over their hearts for our endless procession of bikes. After arriving at the cemetary, stopping and having to pull around to make room for everyone, a wave of PGR headed for the service. The AF Honor Guard was awsome, the jet fly over, the 21 gun salute, and we about lost it when two Trumpeters played Taps, then to top it off one of the Trumpeters picked up the Bag Pipes and played a beautiful Amazing grace. After all over we knew we had a long ride ahead of us and headed home instead of making the gathering at Charlies, and guess what... got (lost again #3) Finally made it out of town. Stopped near Norman,OK for gas and break. While there a group of riders from Dallas pulled in, We all rode on in to Dallas together. Left them there and headed on home comfortably in familliar territory. Made it back to Overton around 9:30pm Mission Complete!
