27 Oct 2006 9:38 PM Alert
The parents of one of the soldiers of 2-12 Cav at Ft. Bliss requested PGR to do a send-off.  The unit commander has also concurred and given us the following itinerary:

The unit is leaving on three different flights.  We don't know which flight Ryan will be on, so we should be there for all three:

October 31, 5:00 PM, first bus arriving at the Departure & Arrival Command Group (DACG), Bldg 11055, Biggs Army Air Field.
November 1, 1:00 PM, second bus arriving at DACG
November 1, 8:00 PM, last bus arriving at DACG

PGR members who can get on Ft. Bliss, the DACG is on Biggs Army Air Field next to the bridge.  We can set-up in front, but outside the gate to the DACG (there's a large field in front).  For those members not able to get on Ft. Bliss, the DACG is also visible from Fred Wilson Dr., which is off-post.  There is a small cement drain opening that is large enough for a motorcycle to exit off Fred Wilson on the side of the road (otherwise there is a fairly high curb).  Those PGR could set-up just outside the fence in front of the DACG, but would be visible by the soldiers on the bus as they arrive

Be there about 15 minutes prior just in case, and bring plenty of big flags.  If you want to make big butcher paper signs to hold or put on the fence, that would be fantastic.
Information for sign ideas:
* We were invited by parents Marica and Michel Taylor for soldier Ryan Taylor (see thread: http://www.patriotguard.org/Forums/tabid/61/forumid/111/postid/187909/view/topic/Default.aspx )
* Unit is 2d Bn, 12th Cavalry Regiment, "Thunderhorse" -- part of 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. (see website: https://www.bliss.army.mil/4-1CAVTemp/212/Unit%20Organization.htm )

Please, let's make a big PGR showing for these troops and for the parents, who are PGR members in Florida.  Since this isn't a ride, grab some friends and bring them along with you!  Just note, if you're in a cage, you should really go to the pass office outside the Biggs front gate and just get a temporary pass.  There's not very much room on the side of the road for any vehicle bigger than a motorcycle, and it's much easier to get a pass for a car.

Thanks,
Honky Tonk

Honky Tonk, and all my other brother and sisters in the West Texas PGR......................THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.........I can't tell you how much this means to me and Michel. We are heart broken that we can not be there to see our son off. We were so hoping that we could make it, but Michel is on watch this week, and there is not enought time when he gets off to get there.
I would forever be indepted to anyone who could get pictures, and if at all possible, make a sign that says "WE LOVE YOU RYAN, AND WE ARE PROUD OF YOU" your mom and dad. Also a little news Ryan surprized us last Friday, he got married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We love you guys, and if we can ever return the favor pleas let us know.

Marcia and Michel Taylor

PS Ryan's last name is not Taylor it is Kitchens, but no problem.
