26 Oct 2006 2:32 PM Alert

Updated 30 Oct 06 – 2135 ET

This is a confirmed mission.

Due the possible amount of participants for the ride to Absarokee the Beartooth Harley-Davidson dealer in Billings has generously given us there parking lot for a gathering point Saturday morning.  To be in Absarokee by 9:00am we will be leaving from Beartooth Harley at 7:45am SHARP!   I would ask everyone to be in the parking lot by 7:30am for final ride brief.

We will be riding I-90 to Columbus exit 408, then south on MT-78 to the Absarokee High School parking lot.  There we will get our flags assembled, stage for the ride to the church and take positions as needed.  I do NOT expect any uninvited guests to show up so our mission is to honor Petty Officer Second Class Charles V. Komppa and support his family.

I would encourage everyone to get a flag; 3X5 is the preferred size as they are not too big to attach to your bike.  I know wall-mart has them for about $15.00 and they collapse in 3 sections for easy transport.

Road Report (Thanks to Ivan Jasper)

FROM 9 MILES SOUTH OF COLUMBUS TO COLUMBUS.  RECONSTRUCTION WORK IN PROGRESS.  EXPECT REDUCED SPEED TO 35 MPH, GRAVEL SURFACE, DETOUR, LOOSE GRAVEL.  EXCAVATION, BRIDGE WORK, AND CULVERT WORK IN PROGRESS.

Be advised but most of all be careful.

Weather Report

It looks like the high will be in the low 50’s.  At ride time I expect low 40’s so dress warm and be safe.

For all of you from the Stevensville/Missoula part of the state; Dusty Williams has volunteered to setup a caravan/carpool.  Please contact him at the following:

pegasus1@bigsky.net, 406-240-1190

There are at least two vehicles I know of from the Billings area that are going and there may be some seats available.  If you can’t ride or need transportation let me know and I will put you in contact with someone who is driving.

If there are more details I will post them as needed.

==============================

When a mans heart is full of deceit it burns up, dies and a dark shadow falls over his soul. From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse, a wrong that must be righted. We look to the skies for a vindicator, someone to strike fear into the black hearts of the same men who created him. The battle between good and evil has begun. Against an army of shadows comes the Dark Warrior, the purveyor of good, with a voice of silence and a mission of justice. - Steve "Sting" Borden

After Chinook I am a believer. I regret I will be unable to attend as I will be out of the country at the time. When asked by one of his Parliament members why Tony Blair believes so much in America, he said: "A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in ... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ 2. The American G. I. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom Dale Butterfield Billings MT
