Final Itinerary for: Fallen Soldier US Army Sgt. WillSun M. Mock US ARMY

SGT. WillSun M. Mock, 23 years old, of Harper, Kansas was killed in action 22 October 2006 in Baghdad, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near his combat vehicle while his unit was conducting combat operations. SGT Mock was supporting Operation Iraq Freedom in the war on terrorism for United States of America. Sgt Mock was serving his second tour in Iraq. His colleagues described him as tough, well-seasoned, very good at his job and always there to help his fellow soldiers. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade combat Team, 1st Infantry Division "The Big Red One". "Prepared and Loyal, Sir."

SGT Mock's mother, Ann Mock, and his father, Michael Mock, have invited the Patriot Guard as their guests at the funeral services in Wellington, KS, and to the Full Military Graveside services in Harper, KS. Their son's nickname is "Will", and his mother said he was "just the best you could ask for" and everyone loved him. He was well-known in his community, and highly respected. Will fought and died to protect his families, his fellow-soldiers in his unit, friends of Harper and Wellington, KS, our families and our freedom.

If you can, please make this mission to show our respect and support his family and honor this Fallen Soldier. His father, Michael Mock, is a US Army Combat Vietnam Veteran. All Vietnam Veterans present on Thursday, please take time to personally extend your condolences to Michael for the loss of his son, and welcome him home from Vietnam.  

STAGING & DEPARTURE: for the Derby , Douglas, Mulvane, Haysville, Rosehill, Wichita , Andover , area Patriot Guard.
Patriot Guard from other towns please join at the Wellington, KS staging area.

0800 hr (8:00AM) Thursday 2 November 2006 meet at the Derby QT south 71st & K15
0830 hr (8:30AM) Departure to Wellington, KS (30 miles)
K-15 to Mulvane, KS, turn right (south) at K-15 & Rock Road intersection
Go to downtown Mulvane, turn right, go to Hwy-53 west
Turn left on Hwy-81, ride south to Wellington


Enter Wellington city limits, go west on Hwy-160 to the Wal-Mart
0930 hr Arrival Wellington, KS Wal-Mart
1201 West 8th - North side of street (8th Street is also Hwy-160 West)
Restroom/coffee/fuel if needed at:
"Super C Fuel" Service Center to the East of the Wal-Mart parking lot
McDonalds to the West of the Wal-Mart parking lot
There will be Patriot Guard members directing riders to line up motorcycles with flag poles


1030 hr Briefing
1045 hr Departure to Service
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
1003 W. 22nd
Located at intersection of North Plum and West 22nd Street
1100 hr Arrival at church. Line up flags and be prepared.
1300 hr Service starts

Following Service, escort Sgt. Mock and his family to the Harper, KS, cemetery
Full military honors at the graveside service.
We will provide a perimeter circle around the family.
Cemetery is approximately 35 miles west of Wellington on Hwy-160.

Patriot Guard coming from I-35, take the Wellington Exit (160-West to Wellington)
Follow 160 West, which is also 8th Street, to the Wal-Mart
There are a half dozen service stations along this street

The community of Harper will provide dinner to all attendees following the graveside service.
Location is in downtown / main-street Harper. Details will be announced.

Long-distance riders who wish to stay overnight: Matt Brannon owns the Harper Motel. He offered to provide rooms to anyone who needs one, and he will not charge for them. Matt's good friend, Pvt. Gregory Goodrich, was killed in combat in Iraq soon after the war began. The motel is across from the funeral home on Hwy-160, center of town. Phone number is 620-896-9977. Ride Safe. Ralph Rojas, PGR Kansas State Captain will be attending this mission in support of KPG.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Willsun M. Mock, 23, of Harper, Kan., died Oct. 22 in Baghdad, Iraq, from injuries suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Mock was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.
