Ohio Riders/Fellow Ohio Ride Captains - Any interest in setting up a staging point on I-70 near the OH/IN line for grouping up and riding on to Kokomo together. It will require a little coordination, but I can't think of anything within our meager abilities that would be more impressive or a greater tribute to this young soilder than for a large group of bikes with flags flying proudly to travel across his state in a final farewell to him.

Hey Sarge and Onion and anyone else from Southern Indiana....not sure if I can come up the day before or not but would try to meet somewhere on the way, will let you know.  Might stay at my sisters the night before in Coatesville, if so, will work something out to meet you for the last 80 miles.

If bad weather happens will probably cage it, either way we'll have to hook up.

IndyHarley, give Sgt. Jones' mother our best and tell her to hang in there.

We're on our way.

Russ, what a great idea. My schedule is looking pretty good for being able to make this mission (waiting for word from a customer on a conversion). What is within our meager abilities (I.E. a meet point & time)?

A country's patriotism is not measured by how high they fly the flag or how loud they sing the National Anthem, it is measured by how they treat their warriors.

Kelly - Until we see a stage time in Kokomo it will be hard to set up a time to meet and head on over. We just need a place on I-70 with fuel and facilities that's easy to find. I have a friend in Eaton who's a truck driver, he may be able to specify a good place. It looks like we need to plan 2 1/2 hours from there to Kokomo. If we have a group of bikes to sheperd, we should plan one short 15 minute stop for fuel/facilities and a quick stretch . I could make it non-stop, but I wouldn't consider it reasonable to expect others to do it in order to be part of the group.

Phil - I'm in Cinci and will be riding up with Jim. We'll be on the bikes and will probably leave in the wee hours Monday. As you can see from the discussion we may go up through Eaton and meet a group of Ohio Riders for the trip over. You're welcome to ride with us if you like.

OK - for planning purposes the staging time will be 8 AM and it will not be far from the funeral services. So for planning plan on being around 4200 s park about 8 AM - coffee and donuts will be supplied. DETAILS will be given within the next two days by one of the Ride Captains. I don't like to put this info out until we are 100% sure but the interests in this ride have dictated giving you the general area we will be in and if it changes it will only be location change and not time. God Bless you all for making every effort to come and ALL ARRIVE SAFE or it will not be a Mission Accomplished.

Hey Jim,
My scoot may not be ready either.  I'm adding some bling-bling and the radiator cover, saddle bags etc are off.
If it's not finished by the Sgt Jones mission, maybe we could meet up.  I may be driving a cage too.  I have room for one more so you could ride up with me ( or me with you). If you're going around Indy on 465 on the west side we could meet at 465 and 10th St in the Lowe's Lot and take just one car.
BTW, check IN postings for a Meet & Greet I'm putting together as soon as weather improves.

I don't know, but I'll ask, has the family asked for our assistance in helping shield the house at night? If so, I'll volunteer for a shift. Let me know...

Part of what is going here is that some group wants us to over react and do something stupid and yes it would be stupid for any of us to do anything outside of the law at this point. I personally would be ashamed if any PGR member drew negative attention at this point in time. YOU are BETTER than those doing this to the family. I assure you the local PD is on it and yes that will not alleviate the stress on this grieving family but if we did anything negatively it would create a circus atmosphere and I would bet my life that that would be added stress beyond comprehension for this family. I will be heading to Kokomo via 31 if anyone wants to meet or suggest a place to meet - probably meet time at 6AM since I like to be there as soon as I can. I will again talk to the mother and if she has any requests I will pass it on. Folks details are being finalized and should be posted by the Ride Captains by Thursday would be my guess.
