We have been invited to participate in the Veterans Day Parade in downown Atlanta on Saturday Nov 11. In the Atl. parade, we were invited to escourt the V A hospital float with our Flags unfurled. Quite an honor. Fox and CNN networks are expected to cover this patriotic event.
There are two request I would like to make to each PGR who attends this parade. One.....BRING YOUR FLAGS. I can not stress enough how much this means to the public to see us with our flags flying....just read the letters of apprication and you will get a sense of what sort of impact the flags have.
And two, The Secretery of Veterans Affairs is attempting to start a new tradition in this country, and I personally think it is a awesome idea. So on Nov 11, I would like to pass his request on to all who will attend this parade. Everyone who is a Veteran is requested to wear their medals and ribbons on their left side. It's time to be proud of being a vet and what better way than to display your awards?
Details of staging and times are still being worked out so please keep an eye on this thread for updates. |

A person is not judged a Hero by the way he died-rather by the way he lived.
The price of freedom is visible at any Veteran's Hospital.
If you want to salute, or cover your heart with your hand, or just stand silently holding the flag, it's your choice. The only thing I require is that you do it in a respectful manner. I am a combat veteran. I served my country. I led young men and boys face to face in combat with their enemy. I also am a disabled veteran. War related. I have certainly earned the right to salute in a respectful manner but my salute is no more important than any nonveteran standing in our flag line. My love for America and my respect for our fallen warriors is no more or no less important than anyone else that comes to our PGR mission. I have fought for my country and I will continue to fight for the rights of every person that stands in our flag line.

What about our members in Cages? Will they be allowed to be a part of the parade? They are as much a part of the PGR as the bike riders.
I have ordered a 3' X 5' PGR Flag as well as two Magnetic PGR Support Vechicle signs. Would be willing to loan to cagers if they are required to have something. Providing I receive them before the 11TH.

Firefighters don't choose the fires; The Armed Forces don't choose the wars. The alarm sounds: we go.
And then came a rumbling felt - and heard - from miles away. It was the Patriot Guard, As they rumbled away, retired Marine Col. Don Beaver, one the parade's organizers, flashed a smile.
"That," he said, "is the sound of patriotism."

Awesome! I ordered a PGR flag, a small one, for my cage window... but it's backordered and it may be a while before I get it.... Haven't ordred the support vehicle magnets yet (ran outta $$, lol!).
Will be happy to help however I can...whatever y'all need me to do - I'll walk, drive, whatever.....

| Hi from Rome, Georgia. I am a new member and have not been on a mission yet. I was tentatively planning to go to a welcome home ride in Brentwood, TN (11/10) and then do the Veterans Day Parade in Nashville, TN while visiting my brother in Mt. Juliet, TN. I think it would be more important to be at the Parade in my home town, plus it is a lot closer to Rome. Count me in for this mission. I will start working on my flag mount tonite. Thanks, CF. |
