Final Itinerary for Veteran’s Day Parade, November 11, 2006, Nashville, TN

STAGING AREA
:  We will be staging between 17th Av. N. and 18th Av. N. off West End Av. 0900-0930.  I will be there around 0830 to get us checked in.  Uniformed National Guard Personnel will be assisting in the parade line up.  Cages are welcome at this event, so if you are driving, have your flags flying also!!  When you arrive to the area off West End Av., start looking for 17th Av. N., I will have someone up there to point you in the right direction to find us.

Coming into Nashville, you will take the Broadway Exit off I-40, if you are coming in from the WB you will turn left onto Broadway, coming EB you will turn right onto Broadway.  There is a Shell station about 2 blocks down on the right, 17th Av. N. runs beside it.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.  If you get misdirected that morning, call my cell phone listed below; I should be able to get you to us.  Staging is near where I work, so am familiar with the area.

PARADE:  The parade kicks off at 1100 CST.  Parade Assembly Area begins on Broadway at 14th Avenue & extends out West End to18th Av., N.  The last group to pass the review stand will be around 12:30-12:45.

AFTER THE PARADE:  At the end of the parade, I have reserved an area at Logan’s Roadhouse for any and all to eat and get to know the rest of their PGR family, and to celebrate our one-year anniversary.  I am going to try and get a head count once everyone is there so that I can let Logan’s have an idea of how many of us to expect.

RIDE CAPTAIN:  Annette Robeck (Dreamcatcher) will be the RC; you can reach her via e-mail or at (615) 974-3046, if you have any questions.

Please have flags flying if you can!!

Would appreciate any and all riders for FUN this mission.  Ride/Drive safely!

Boardway will be closed in both directions, from I40. You can exit off Demonbreun St. and if your coming from the west, turn right, from the east turn left. I will have my cell phone with me, if you have trouble getting to us call, once I get there, I'll know more on what they are closing.

You can also come in I440, and get off on West End Av., and follow that into town, which might be the best for all. I don't know yet when they are closing the streets down, but as soon as they let me know, I'll post it.

I am attending a meeting on the 1st for updates on changes they are making. I will up date the itinerary as needed following the meeting.

Hope everyone arrives safely, looking forward to seeing old and new faces!

"Raises Hand", Sorry about that Lynn. Work blew up on me, and I have worked to midnight this week, including tonight. Hopefully someone will come through for ya. I wanted to be there, but 30 people are depending on me to keep them employed, and I had to handle this.

Ride Report

The rain held out for us today!  Temperatures, in the low 40's with winds 10-20 mph, just a might chilly sitting still!!

We had an awesome turn out for the Veteran's Day Parade, 41 bikes, 2 cages.  There were some riders out of Clarksville that rode with us, and a couple out of Franklin.  Thank you to our new friends!  We had a couple of new members in attendance, welcome again to our large family!

The first of us arrived a little after 0800, half frozen, but for the most part dry, a couple of our riders rode in from Gladeville, TN (staying there with friends, one was actually from east TN, the other one from Hop-town, KY) they hit some rain on their way to Nashville, thank goodness the rain did not follow them!!  The parade started at 11:00, and we were at the end around 12:30 or so.

There was a real good turn out of folks to watch the parade, a lot of stoping and starting, but the crowd really loved the bikes and flying American, POW/MIA, and PGR flags.

Thank you to the members that road in from KY, east TN, west TN areas, I hope everyone arrived back home safely.

After the parade we all went to Logan's for some warmth and food.  The put us in the room with the fireplace, and was it a welcome site!  I actually started feeling my fingers again after a while.

It was very nice to celebrate both Veteran's Day and our 1st Anniv. with brothers and sisters of the PGR and some new friends we made during the parade.

I want to thank everyone that was able to come out and participate in honoring our Veterans.  It was really a fun mission for all!
