Deb…
Devil Dog and I are going to be coming to the concert.
I will have my bike, but the Dog will be driving the Morris Parade Flat bed..
Can you give us the PGR rate on a couple rooms? And do you have room to park a semi?
I think you do from what I saw.
Devil Dog will also need a ride to the concert since he is definitely not riding with me…Nor does he want to…Nor do I want him to…And he doesn’t want to anyway….

I was thinking he could hitch a ride from someone since we are planning to be at your place ---the staging area—at 1730..

Big Joe, I will have a total of 5 people and we will be in a mini van.
We are planning on getting to the staging area a little early. So, if Dog needs a ride to the dome and back to Deb's we should be able to get him in there !!!
We are not spending the night down there and will be head back home, we are about 20 min. from Morris for the next day.

I pray that even when I'm gone that our younger generation continues to show their Respect and Honor (war or no war) as we do in the PGR for all of our Hero’s.

Anybody have a clue what time this might be letting out after the concert? I have to be in Harlan, IA (about 30 miles from Omaha) the next morning for a funeral mission and in Ames for a Welcome home mission in the afternoon, and kinda want to know if I'll be driving straight through or get to stop by home in Davenport on the way. No matter what, I'll be at all these missions.

Thanks. That'll give me some time to make it back to Davenport, grab a couple hours of sleep, then head to Harlan (280 miles) for the funeral at 10:00 on Saturday. Looks like rain and snow around here from early Friday morning, so this should get real interesting.

Was anyone else from the PGR asked by the young boy walking down the flag line for an autograph?  I felt kinda like a "celebrity" for a second.

Yes, it was cool to be asked for our autograph - I know I saw him go down our entire row.  My husband and I had a great time and brought along my mother for her first Patriot Guard event.  "Grandma" survived the evening and had a wonderful time.  As a mother with a daughter presently serving as a Lt. Col. in the Reserves and an another daughter who has fulfilled her time (me ) - she was very proud to be there to show her support!  She especially loved sporty my husband leather vest which gave us a wonderful Christmas idea for her - we are going to get her a vest and get a Patriot Guard patch and mission accomplished pin for her!  It was also nice to speak with several of the other members and was happy to be seeing people for a good reason!

Well worth the white knuckle ride down.  (torential down pours and lighting with winds beyond belief!)  Hats off to the die hards!!!!

I had the overwhelming feeling to raise my flag and fly her in honor.  Thanks Chris for allowing us to "fly her high" for a moment.  We don't get those chances often enough.  What an awesome site.  I was stunned by the vision that will be forever embedded in my mind.

Thanks to the ladies for the awesome chili and soup.  Yum!
Maybe not such a great idea at the end of the night, right before a long (2 1/2 hour) drive home in the cage....but great none the less.

Sandy

Yes, he asked my wife and I for an autograph. Made us feel like a celebrity too.

All I can say is "thank you" to Lee Greenwood for letting the PGR be part of this wonderful evening. What a feeling it was carrying the flag through the auditorium. Such a feeling of pride, hard to say with words. It was "AWESOME", the drive down there was pretty trying with the downpours, however it was very well worth it. Also, it was an honor to spend the evening with such an incredible group of PGR members. Thank you!

Joe, I have to admit, that is the worst weather I have ever ridden in, and I'm sure proud of Diane. I dont know if that can be considered a confidence builder or just plain negligence? LOL, we made it.
Anyhow thanks to Mr. Greenwood, all who put this together, supported it and provided the chow. Sure was good to see you folks again. Deb, can you have blow dryers installed in the rooms, sure would help :).

No he could not eat it all. Nailer sorry I promise never to meet you in the rain again. This was three in a row for us. Joe and Slingblade, Slings wife, hope you guys don't come down with anything.
Our Gold Star parents all had a good time, this was a speciel time to share with the ones we we new on a very personal basis. I really enjoyed this and hope it help a little with the healing. Deb, you know it was my Honor to Fly those flags, and I also taught some of the chior how to fold the flag.  Max, Max, remember the pictures are still available before I go public with them.  The rainmust of kept part of my posse in hiding, maybe will see the rest Sunday.
Thank You people for allowing me to be a part of this great organization.

Wow, what a time that was !
Fist off I have to say to everyone that rode the bikes, you people are die hard's BIG TIME ! We drove from Crest Hill (caged) with my father, that jeep was all over the road.
All I could keep thinking of is Big Joe and who ever was riding down with him on their bikes and hoping you all were ok. There was times we slowed down to under 20MPH, just to see the road.
Anyway, It was very nice to meet the south IL group and then the others that were there from all over. I would also like to thank everyone for taking my father in as family. He can not stop talking about how wonderful everyone is in the PGR.
He now has been on a total of 3 missions with us.
Thank you for a great time !

The most special part of the evening was walking past the Gold Star Families and seeing the approval in their eyes.  What an honor.

As always, good to see the "old" faces and meet some of the "new" faces.  The dedication of our members continues leave me in awe and admiration.
