Weather permitting I will stay in the Springs after the memorial on the 15th and be at the homecoming. But if it gets bad, I will have to head back to Denver earlier.

The 3HBCT webiste now has today's Special Events Center ceremony time as 1815; what will our new staging time be?
I'll plan on being at Gate 1 at 1630 if no updated staging time is posted here. |

Time Change
This is the current (17 Nov) arrival schedule. I will post the times as well as any changes for each mission as I receive the information. I suggest you keep tuned to this thread both to learn the time of each mission as well as to be sure you've not missed any last minute change. Also please check http://www.carson.army.mil/units/3hbct/frg/ Before your departure to verify no arrival times have changed. 17 Nov (Fri): 17:00 (5:00 pm) Stage at the Gate 1 Visitors' Parking Area for the flag line by the bleachers to honor the returning heros as they pass, then sortie to the Special Events Center' 18:15 (6:15 pm) Heros arrive at the Special Events Center. 22 Nov (Wed): 11:45 (11:45 am) Stage at the Gate 1 Visitors' Parking Area for the flag line by the bleachers to honor the returning heros as they pass, then sortie to the Special Events Center' 13:30 (1:30 pm) Heros arrive at the Special Events Center. We will stage at Fort Carson's Gate 1 Visitors' Parking Area. This is on US 115, about one mile south of the Academy Blvd overpass. From I-25 South to the Academy Blvd exit. West on Academy, immediately taking the left lane, to Hwy 115. South on Hwy 115. Bikers and cagers (autos) both always are invited. If you're caging a welcome home mission in/on a vehicle without a DOD gate pass decal, you might want to go through the visitors' inspection and permit process at the Gate upon arrival, then circle back to the visitors' parking area and join us. Doing that would expedite you through the gate the second time once we sortie for the Special Events Center. If you're riding, remember the requirement for a brightly colored top/vest and the motorcycle safety course completion card in addition to your driver's license with motorcycle endorsement, proof of insurance and registration. A helmet either with a visor or eye protection with side panels, boots or over the ankle shoes, full fingered gloves, long sleeves and trousers are required as well |

| I'm glad I finally was able to make it up to a Welcome Home mission at Ft. Carson. It was an honor to be out on the flight line as they got off the plane. As a good friend likes to say, it made the windshield get a little misty watching the returning heroes get enveloped by their family and friends at the Special Events Center. These types of missions top off the tanks in my heart so I can continue on to the hard ones. |

To each and every one of you who have taken time away from your own families, your jobs and your lives to attend these homecomings, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! The opportunity given to us to welcome these soldiers home in the manner they deserve was such a great one, and our turnout definitely squelched any apprehension and concern that may have been brought up in the beginnings.
Whether you attended one, or all nineteen.....whether you came on your lunch break, or at the ones scheduled for 0200 that ended up coming in at 0445, there was Patriot Guard presence at EVERY SINGLE HOMECOMING! Talk about dedication!
To the small group of you who went out on the tarmac.....thank you for giving up that much more time....I spoke to one of the soldiers who came in on yesterdays flight, and he was beyond words....he was in complete and total awe that we would do what we did, each and every time.
From all the time changes, cold nights of flag holding with no gloves, TIME CHANGES, spilled coffee in the new Jeep, MSF card issues, DID I MENTION TIME CHANGES??!?!?!!?, and the countless tears shed, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all the greatest and I'm honored to be associated with such a great group! |

Kristen: You're the best of the PGR angels. Your support of us both as an Army wife and a PGR; being as much on all the missions as any of us, the coffee, fat pills, pizzas tailored to need, smiles, hugs, encouraging words, your continuing to keep us current on arrival times, your stepping up to the Brass to help cure the problems at the gate were more than just frosting on the cake.
Thanks, luv, from one of your PGR "boyfriends".

| To second Kristen's thank you, I personally feel it's "extremely important" to make as many of these "homecomings" as you possibly can. I've had a worry that we of the PGR would be seen as "bringers of death", I know that our primary mission is the "Fallen" but I truely feel that by us showing at homecomings, we bring a different prospective to the "families" about the PGR!
I totally understand that all "work" and must make a living but when these come around again, try to make one as it will not only boost the sprit of the "familes" but your own sprit too! Thank you all, it's a honor knowing and standing with you!
Sincerely & with Respect! |

Kristen, you are the best. There is not much I can say that the previous posts haven't already covered. Thank you so much for all the time, effort, and money (usually from your own pocket) you have given to these and all missions. The term 'Angel' fits you in more ways than you will ever know. You are the best!

Kristen, what can I possibly add that hasn't already been said, except that your face (or a group photo of you and all of the other wives who seem hell-bent on adding just a little bit more to our waistliines) should be next to the definition of "angel" in the dictionary.
I'd vote to put all of your faces next to the words "brave" and "courageous" too, because you are some of the bravest women I have ever had the pleasure to meet in my lifetime. You go far above and beyond what many in this world would do, and we appreciate all of you and what you do for us more than mere words could ever convey.
It is truly an honor and a privelege to know each and every one of you. |
