Fellow Patriot Guard Riders. Desperate situations sometimes call for desperate measures. Due to miscommunications, which were not the fault of our Florida leadership, but simply an error along the way, we only found out about this mission last night, and I read an email from Slowpoke this A.M., asking if we could do this on such short notice. Knowing that we are a little less in numbers here in Florida then we once were, but with more heart then ever, I immediately answered, "of course, that's what we do. We honor our heros." I realize that this is extremely short notice, but after talking with the family this a.m., and hearing the gratitude between the tears, that perfect strangers were asking to come and honor their son, their brother, I am asking that despite the fact that the timing sucks on this one, if you can find it possible to make this one, please, please make the effort. We will not be going to Bushnell, as the funeral director has only requested a LEO escort to the edge of Tampa and it is too late to change that now. Not only will you make this grumpy old ride captain very happy and proud, your presence wll mean a great deal to the family of this fine man. I know it will not be possible for many of you, and for those that would like to, but can't, you'll be with us in spirit. And I also know that being who you people are, that if you can make this mission, you will. Thank you.
