We have confirmed the arrival of the 1-163FA unit for Sunday, 22-0ctober-2006 but do not have a definite time yet. This is Dale and Sheri's son-in-law's cousin (I think I got that right) unit, but I am not sure where they are out of. They will be landing at the Indianapolis International Airport. Stay tuned for final details and times, as these missions change rapidly and often.
Hopefully timing will work out with the Monticello mission.
Staging will be at the Indianapolis International Terminal. Directions: Airport Expressway to bottom of hill at stoplight, turn right Veer to the left lane and continue straight (do not head to the regular terminal) Continue to the next stoplight (BP Station) and go straight Turn at first left past the BP - International Terminal entrance Follow about 3/4 mile and the terminal and parking lot will be on the left |

The 163rd Field Artillery is out of Evansville, In. One of my coworkers is serving with this Unit, and his wife said (last time I talked with her) that the Unit was to leave Iraq today or tomorrow, fly to Germany for a short debrief (3 or 4 days) then fly back to the States. They get to go home for a couple of days, then back to Camp Attebury (near Indy) for another debrief, then home for good.
Welcome home guys...we've all missed you, and are so very proud. |

Some more info: Possibility it might be early in the AM on Sunday - if you are going to Monticello we may be able to go here first - we won't escort them to Atterbury as they will be going to Armory where family will be there - if time permits we may do the short escort to the Armory. Stay tuned.... |

Ok, looks like they will be arriving around 7:35AM on Sunday, October 22nd, and then heading to Stout Field to meet their families, then on a 48 hour pass and then back to Atterbury then back to Evansville.
I will probably be there around 7:15AM but I can only stay til about 8:15AM and then I will have to head to Monticello. Not doing any escort since they will be going to Stout Field, it will be but just a meet and greet. |
