To the family and friends of A1C Chavis: Please know that anyone who has donned the Blue Beret in defense of this great nation, is saddened at the loss of this young patriot. Know that we stand with you in your time of sorrow. Today I have lost not only a fellow Airman, but a brother SP. Stand down A1C Chavis, you have manned your post well. You will not be forgotten.

Airman 1st Class Chavis, family & friends:
Another great hero has fallen, for a cause that we have to know is just, for to fight the enemy there might delay fighting them here on the homeland. Airman Chavis, you are a hero in all of our hearts, and America thanks you for your willingness to defend this great nation. Rest in peace, now, brave airman, for you are in the hands of God and he will welcome you home.
May God bless, comfort, protect, heal and surround each family member with his love and grace during this difficult time and the days ahead.
Having served in the USAF, myself, I stand especially proud of you and your dear family. Thank God for the patriots of America, both past and present. They have always stood tall and many have been willing to give the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation. May they never return to America and not be honored for their service.
Thankful for the generation that has picked up the banner of courage, and honored the red, white and blue.
God bless America, land that I love....

Thank you for all those kind words you are guys are saying. My husband just left the 820th in June and he knew Amn Chavis. This has hit really close to home and it's frightening. But thank you for the kind words...it really means a lot to all of us.

Chavis, thank you for everything you did for the 824th. Your dedication and hardwork will always be remembered.

Note on the funeral date:

We have some troops from the other units going up there. Well they were all told today it was for Monday the 23rd. So I would see if either they released the wrong date or if our Commander has the wrong date.

Funeral Services Confirmed with ANC to be Oct 24th @ 3 pm.

This mission is open to the Public; there is no invitation from the family for the Patriot Guard to attend. Just that it is open to the public and leave room for the family to grieve.
Anyone wishing to attend the services may do so, please Dress appropriately; I recommend we keep this very low key, and No MC’s. Arm bands are ok, if you have them.

Please be at the admin building 30 minutes prior to the service.

I ask everyone to hold a moment of silence for Airman 1st Class Chavis at 3 pm on the 24th.

Rest in Peace, Leebenard, you will be among America's hero's.

Respectfully,

Frank Baranyai
