The original thread was lost over the weekend. There was a great turnout to welcome the troops home Sunday night.

Thanks again for everyone's participation.

********Final Mission Report********

A total of 8 of us showed up to Welcome Home 130 Marines of Hotel Battery, 3rd Battalion of the 14th Marine Regiment.

On such short notice, it was a fine turnout, and it felt more like 20!! Everyone started showing up around 8:30 to 9:00pm.
The buses were scheduled in at 10:10, but didn't show until 10:30.

Just before the buses showed up, we lined up with our 3x5's in a narrow passageway between the parking lot and the main
courtyard where hundreds of family members and friends were eagerly waiting.

Eileen ElKind brought a dozen or so small flags on sticks, which She stuck in every fence post along the passageway, which
really brighted up the area.

The Marines, who were in Great Spirits, walked passed one by one. We welcomed each and every one. The Families and Friends were on
one side of the courtyard, that was cordoned off, so the Soldiers could Form up one last time.
Military Trucks surrounding the courtyard, with their headlights On, provided the Light. (reminded me of close encounters of the 3rd kind!!)

The Marines formed up, were called to attention and Dismissed. The roar of the crowd was deafening, the cord was cut and the Marines ran toward
the crowd, and the crowd ran toward the Marines meeting somewhere in the middle! It was a happy moment to say the least, seeing Marine
Dads holding their newborn Babys for the first time.! Very Cool !

Big Thanks goes out to 1st Sgt. Terry Raso, and all the other Marines who welcomed Us, to come Honor Them. (I gave her a PGR Mission Accomplished Pin)

Big Thanks Also to all the PGR's who came out to Honor these Marines. I think I can safely say for all of us, We Had Fun.!

Last but not least, none of this would have happened had Carl not spotted the event in the newspaper, Thanks Carl.!

Hope to see you All again Soon,

Bruce Biggs
