20 Oct 2006 5:44 AM Alert

Thank you all for your words of support.  I will contact the CAO again today and follow up with him.  Please be patient, these are tough times for the family.  I am only sure of one thing at this time, we will be there for them and their community.  Jason will receive a farewell befitting an American Hero.  His family will feel the love of strangers, but still of Brothers.  When one military man passes on, all veterans feel a kin to them, a part of us also passes with Jason.

I much rather prefer to think of these services as a celebration of Jason's life.  We shall stand for him, and leave a piece of ourselves with his family.  We can only unite with Jason's family in an effort to help share their burden, their loss, America's loss of a defender of our freedoms.  I for one, will be forever grateful for his service to our country, my freedoms never taken for granted, yet lived and enjoyed, for him.

21 Oct 2006 3:43 PM Alert
I have been informed that the family wishes us to go directly to the Sunset Cemetery to set up a Wall of Flags in Galloway Ohio ( on Rt. 40, just west of the I-270 loop on the West side of Columbus).

I am looking for a Ride Captain to set up a staging point close.  Follow this thread for instructions.

Services are at 1300 so I will wish us to be "Flags Up" at that time, at the cemetery.  I expect staging will be at 1230 in the vicinity.

The date is TUESDAY, 24 OCTOBER.

Please stay attentive to this thread.

Thank you all for the words and condolences to the family.  They deserve all the support good Americans can give them.  Let's show them, this day, how much we, and all America appreciates the sacrifices of them, and Spc. Jason A. Lucas.

Patriot Guard, I can not stress enough that the most important thing is our attendance and show of support for these families.

Winter is soon among us, and we have nothing to prove by braving freezing temperatures at the risk of our health.  PLEASE do not hesitate to bring the cage to a mission.  There is no disgrace in bringing a car, truck, or van.  I wish you all to realize that some of our finest, most active and dependable members bring cages.  And these members also often include extra flags, water, and support items.

I have a great respect and warm feelings for all our members, regardless of their transportation.  ALL are treated equally, and appreciated equally.

This day, the Lucas family will feel our love and support.  They will soon find out that America recognizes and very much appreciates the sacrifices by their family, FOR OUR FREEDOMS.

Enjoy your life and freedoms, for a most costly price is being paid for them. Support those that pay that price, and sacrifice, FOR US.

It is with deep regret that I must back out on making this mission. I never thought that work would make me back out from showing my support to a fellow fallen military member, but the day has come. The USAF has chosen this week to pile it on.... so to say.

Just as we do in the military... when one falls out... others step in and the unit as a whole never misses a beat. I know in my heart my fellow PGR brothers and sisters will do just that.

Spc. Lucas... you will be in my thoughts all day tomorrow. Your service to our great nation was noble and just.

God Bless my friend.....

v/r,
-Mark

Sorry for the late update but I have received a corrected address for the staging location and cemetery, they are:

The Kroger Store is at the northwest corner of Broad Street and Galloway Road (5800 West Broad Street, Galloway, OH).

Sunset Cemetery is at 5151 West Broad Street which is just west of Galloway Road on the south side of Broad Street.

See you all tomorrow.

I regret that I will be unable to attend. May my PGR brothers and sisters carry my spirit with them.

May the Lord Bless the family of SPC Jason Lucas and keep them in the palm of his hand at this dark hour. America noticed, America cares, and America weeps.

Rest in honored peace, Jason.
