Itinerary Correction
Sorry for the late update but I have received a corrected address for the staging location and cemetery, they are:
The Kroger Store is at the northwest corner of Broad Street and Galloway Road (5800 West Broad Street, Galloway, OH).
Sunset Cemetery is at 5151 West Broad Street which is just west of Galloway Road on the south side of Broad Street.
See you all tomorrow Kelly "Cowboy" Zapara Ohio Ride Captain - Central
Final Itinerary - Spc. Jason A. Lucas, 24, Columbus, OH 24 Oct 06
Thanks to another RC scouting the area we have a final staging location for this mission:
Kroger Grocery store located at 5800 W Broad St, Galloway OH 43119. This is a new store and does not show up using Google Maps.
Directions: Exit I-270 (Columbus loop) on to West Broad Street/SR-40 (exit 7 going Northbound, exit 7B going Southbound), proceed about 2 to 2½ miles West on Broad St, just past Hilliard Rome RD you will see the Kroger store on the North side of Broad St.
After a short briefing we will proceed to Sunset Cemetery which is about 1 to 1-1/2 further West on Broad St/SR-40. Sunset Cemetery is at 5151 West Broad Street which is just west of Galloway Road on the south side of Broad Street.
We will leave the staging area at 13:00.
Please bring your flags and dress warm, the forecast for Tuesday is upper 40’s and partly cloudy.
Respectfully, Kelly Zapara Ohio RC - Central --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Itinerary Update - Spc. Jason A. Lucas, 24, Columbus, OH Oct. 24
I am honored to be grated permission for and will assume Ride Captain duties for this mission of respect.
We have been asked to set up a Wall of Flags at Spc. Lucas’ final resting place, Sunset Cemetery in Galloway Ohio.
Staging starting at 12:15 in the Lincoln Village Shopping Center parking lot on the North side of Broad St. I will recon the area for an identifiable landmark and will post exact location tomorrow afternoon or evening.
Galloway is on the West side of Columbus.
Directions: Exit I-270 (Columbus loop) on to West Broad Street/SR-40 (exit 7 going Northbound, exit 7B going Southbound), proceed about ½ mile West on Board ST and just past Murray Hill RD you will see the Lincoln Village Shopping Center.
After a short briefing we will proceed to Sunset Cemetery at 13:00 which is about 2-1/2 to 3 miles further West on Broad St/SR-40.
Please bring your flags and dress warm as the forecast for Tuesday is upper 40’s and partly cloudy.
I have been informed that the family wishes us to go directly to the Sunset Cemetery to set up a Wall of Flags in Galloway Ohio ( on Rt. 40, just west of the I-270 loop on the West side of Columbus).
I am looking for a Ride Captain to set up a staging point close. Follow this thread for instructions.
Services are at 1300 so I will wish us to be "Flags Up" at that time, at the cemetery. I expect staging will be at 1230 in the vicinity.
The date is TUESDAY, 24 OCTOBER.
Please stay attentive to this thread.
Thank you all for the words and condolences to the family. They deserve all the support good Americans can give them. Let's show them, this day, how much we, and all America appreciates the sacrifices of them, and Spc. Jason A. Lucas.

==============================
When a mans heart is full of deceit it burns up, dies and a dark shadow falls over his soul. From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse, a wrong that must be righted. We look to the skies for a vindicator, someone to strike fear into the black hearts of the same men who created him. The battle between good and evil has begun. Against an army of shadows comes the Dark Warrior, the purveyor of good, with a voice of silence and a mission of justice. - Steve "Sting" Borden |

Casualty Assistance has been contacted and briefed by me of our services.
We shall stand tall, when, and if, invited by the family. Our vigilence in our duty to these men and their families are getting more evident. It seems the need for our support is neverending, and we will never end our support. We will only continue our missions because our freedoms are continually fought and paid for. We must be strong, for them.
May the Lord ease your pain, and may our support and messages, also ease it, even if ever so slightly. |
