Mission PART 2
Oct 26th Church Service at Grove Avenue Baptist Church 8701 Ridge Rd, Richmond, VA
Staging time & place will be at 3:30pm in the back parking lot of the Church.
Family arrives @ 4pm, so we need to have the Corridor of Flags set up by 3:45pm.
Service Starts at 5pm
There will not be an escort from the Funeral Home to the Church.

Directions from I-64. Exit 181-A (towards richmond) A few miles down the road you will see Regency Square (mall). Just past the Mall you will cross Patterson (major intersection).
You will see the Massive Church right in front of you. Turn left onto Ridge Rd and Right into the parking lot.

October 25th
we will be staging at Woody Funeral Home

Staging Time: 3:30pm Sharp. in back parking lot.

I will arrive at 3:00pm. The Family will be showing up at 4pm, so please be as timely as possible. (earlier is better) We will set up a Corridor of Flags at 3:45 out in front of the Funeral Home. If you don't have a 3 x 5 Flag, stop by Wal-Mart and grab one! They even have them at Lowes and Home Depot.
The Service is scheduled to be over at 7pm

Off of I 295, You want to exit 41A HWY 301, heading east-north-east. Shady Grove rd is a stop light not far from the interstate. Woody Funeral Home is on the corner of 301 & Shady Grove Rd. Right hand side (easy to find)

PATRIOT GUARD - PART THREE - 27 OCT 06 @ ANC

 

This is the final Itinerary for PART THREE of the Patriot Guard Mission to honor CPT Shane T. Adcock, 27, Mechanicsville, VA.

 

Mission:

October 27, 2006 internment at 1545 hrs.  In the laceName>ArlingtonlaceName> laceName>NationallaceName> laceType>CemeterylaceType>. 

 

Ride Captains:

Your Ride Captain for this mission is Brad Winchester, who can be reached on his cell at 202-251-4729 or email at Brad.Winchester@VA.GOV.  

 

Staging:

Adjacent to ANC and just off  Route-50 and the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

 

Sequence of Events:

Departure:

1450 -               To laceName>ArlingtonlaceName> laceName>NationallaceName> laceType>CemeterylaceType>. 

1500 -               Arrive at the ANC Administration building to meet family.

1535 -               PGR will continue with escort to grave-site.

1545 - 1615      Grave side service.

 

Weather:

The current weather forecast for Washington, DC on Friday is:   Mainly cloudy and rainy. 50- 55 degrees.

 

Additional Instructions:

  • If you bring 3 X 5 flags they will be furled once we stop in Arlington.
  •  Cages are welcome.  If weather is a consideration and you are on two wheels consider this as an option.
  • All bikes will present a uniform appearance as we ride from the staging area to the cemetery in a staggered formation. 
  • Please remember that our mission is to respect and honor this fallen soldier and his family.
  • Stand tall and proud as we salute this hero and his family for their great sacrifice!!!

A gathering will take place on the 25th in Mechanicsville from 4 pm - 7 pm. 


Internment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on the 27th at 3:45 pm. 

More details will be posted as soon as possible.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Capt. Shane T. Adcock, 27, of Mechanicsville, Va., died on Oct. 11 in Hawijah, Iraq, from injuries suffered from enemy grenade fire. Adcock was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Field Artillery, 3rd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

Our Deepest condolences to the family of Capt Adcock. Shane was recently married in June just before his deployment. This is a very difficult time for the family. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Plans are currently being made for services with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
