Ladies and Gentlemen, pause a moment in Montgomery for our fallen brother Rob Profitt. From what I have learned about the young man we have lost a good Brother. He rest in Tennessee but his Heart and soul is with us all where ever we may be. I wish I could be there to see the fruits of Rob's labor. Salute Rob!

| Mike a moment of silence will be observed tomorrow for Rob, Rob was very special to us, and has touched so many lives. He will be remembered and once again will be given a heroes salute as many of us ride in his and his heroes honor Keith Houts.
This ride continued as the will of this man, and for the request of his family, the entire biker community of Alabama and afar, has come together to make Robs dream come true, and tomorrow his wish will be fullfilled. Thanks to Tennessee for honoring this great American, and tomorrow the honor will continue, as part of the First Anniversary mission held in Montgomery Alabama. |

Posted By kingshadow506 on 03 Nov 2006 7:13 PM I have a PGR sighting in Montgomery, Dinky, CJ, Bair, Snap, Linda and Marco. The only problem is they were honed in on Dinky's GPS and were headed to Mobile when he was rerouted back to the restaraunt, space age technology. I was truly honored to have the ones above meet me for dinner for my birthday. The day I have had to day is a blessing, and to be honored by such true americans is also a blessing. Tomorrow will also be great, today members of the PGR, Blue Knights, CMA, ICVM, and the Wheels of Faith were able to collect over 4800.00 in a kickoff of the Houts fundraiser. The weather tomorrow will be great, a little chilly to start, but a great day will be in store for you all. I welcome all of you to Montgomery, and I assure you that every ounce of my little Penguin body has been put in this mission, and Montgomery will again see the greatest show of American Patriotism ever displayed for two great Americans, and this time the sound of Taps will be replaced with warm memories and wonderful friendship. Again I thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this mission, and best of all for letting me be apart of this group. Ancient 1 and all others traveling from afar please be carefule
Penguin, if I were to leave the comments about first part of your thread, they would be MODERATED out by one of the moderator; however, I love my GPS and it gets me where I want to 50% of the time. Great evening, Happy Birthday and tomorrow will be great day. I love all of you guys and gals. Your Patriots from the word GO! Dinky and CJ |

Dinky, cuddos to you for setting it up and for changing the plans to what we ended up doing. I think that we will find that it was a more meaningful celebration to have been doing something to help someone else. Thank you.

You know, you can always tell when someone cares about someone else. You can also tell when they give more than they expect in return. You can tell when they are worried more about others more than they worry about themselves. I had the chance this weekend from Friday through Sunday to meet and watch such a person like this and I'm proud to announce that it is an Alabama Ride Captain - Penguin! Before I continue, read the article in Sunday's Montgomery Advertiser below -
Fundraiser honors officer's memory
Area motorcyclists spent the weekend using their passion for riding to help the Montgomery Police Department.
Members of the Blue Knights, an international police motorcycle club, the Patriot Guard Riders, the Christian Motorcycle Association and the Wheels of Faith raised thousands of dollars in the name of slain Montgomery police officer Keith E. Houts. The donated funds will go toward buying dashboard cameras for the Police Department.
It was the dashboard camera in Houts' patrol car that allowed investigators to see his Sept. 28 shooting and develop a suspect in the case. Mario Woodward, 32, of Montgomery has been charged with capital murder in Houts' death.
Paul Reynolds, a Blue Knights and PGR member who helped coordinate the fundraiser, said the Blue Knights and the other groups want to ensure that all city patrol cars are equipped as Houts' car was.
Lt. Mark Drinkard, bureau commander for the department's planning and technology division, said the Police Department already has 100 patrol cars outfitted with dashboard cameras. Approximately $125,000 in the city's budget is set aside to buy another 35 cameras.
About 100 more will be needed, Drinkard said.
"We have a lot of (patrol units) that don't have cameras," Drinkard said. "Most of the cameras we do have are outdated. We really need a digital format."
Those raising money for the department hope to help fund the necessary equipment.
The groups spent Friday outside Sam's Club, collecting money in their motorcycle helmets. At the end of the day, they had raised more than $5,700, including $1,000 from one anonymous donor and a $2,000 donation from Sam's Club.
"I never would have expected what we got (in one day)," said Reynolds, a retired Montgomery police officer. "About $4,500 more and I'll have gone over my goal (of $10,000)."
The total from Saturday's event, a poker run hosted by Up the Creek Fish Camp and Grill, was not available Saturday evening. The poker run consisted of a motorcycle ride during which riders stopped at several locations along the planned route and were given a playing card.
At the end of the run, the rider with the best hand won a cash prize. The poker run gave way Saturday afternoon to a block party at Up the Creek.
Wynne Harrison, marketing and community involvement coordinator for Sam's Club, worked on fundraising efforts with Reynolds and Rob Proffitt, an East Ridge, Tenn., native who recently moved to Montgomery and joined the PGR. Proffitt, a manager at Up the Creek, was integral in planning the poker run.
Proffitt was unable to see his efforts to fruition, though. The 32-year-old former U.S. Marine died Oct. 20 from injuries he'd sustained in a motorcycle accident six days earlier.
Saturday's poker run honored both Houts and Proffitt, Reynolds said.
Don "Pops" Carroll, a Vietnam veteran and member of PGR, said it is people like Proffitt and Houts, who also was former military, who need to be honored?
"Our soldiers fight for our freedom and our police officers defend our freedom," Carroll said Friday. "That's why I'm here today."

When a group comes together for a purpose, led by an individual like Penguin you can have no outcome other than success. This weekend mission was more than successful and at the same time we had the opportunity to celebrate the Patriot Guard's 1st Anniversary. Twister, Snap, Ancient One (who is Ancient), Catfish, some of Alabama's finest Ride Captains and I along with all the fine members had the opportunity to witness what Penguin has been working on for these past 2 weeks. We also had a great time after the mission talking, laughing, crying, and partying with all until the wee hours of the morning.
I'd like to thank the following -
Twister for being there! All the PGR members that made the event Up the Creek and their Staff Animal and ICVMC The Blue Knights VoVMC CMA Wheels of Faith Pastor Dolphus
Prattville VFW and all the VFW members that participated. and the Montgomery Police Department's Motorcycle Division
All of these groups came together as one for one common cause and I can't say enough about them.
And I'd like to send an extremely special and warm thanks to Penguin for his hard work in putting this all together. YOU DID GOOD MON!
Take care and God Bless!
Dinky

Yep.... It was a GRAND time... It was good to meet those who we had only chatted with. It was a good weekend. Thanks Dinky for the use of the "hospitality room". I don't know if the "General Manager" will ever call you, but I did call Sunday morning to make sure that I wouldn't get charged for "whatever" room they were trying to put us in and GUESS WHAT? I got an apology!

To all the Dixie Folks,
What a great group! I was honored to be with you and share the time and experiences. I cannot say enough about the leadership, members, Blue Knights, ICVMC and all of other organizations who come together for the PGR.
Sassy, I am going to be sending you a bill for the 55 gallon drum of Exedrin I had to take Sunday morning before I could get out of bed! Contrary to what you kept telling me "just sticking your tongue to a tequilla bottle" will too mess you up!
Lewis, thanks for the loan of the sccot. Dinky, Snap, Catfish, Penguin, Animal, Marco, Sweet Tea, CJ, Linda...and all the rest, thank you so much for the hospitality and the honor.

| Hey its wednesday I just woke up, I really appreciate the kind words, and all the hard work was well worth it. I could not have done it at all if I had not surrounded myself with the most awesome team ever. Janet and Walter Baggett, not only helped with the fundraiser, they also helped out a displaced family in their time of need, the Proffitts. Both took days off at work to help me with this task. The Blue Knights brotherhood once again rallied around their little energetic Young Gun, and gave me the moral support I surely did need. Lawdawg could of not done it with out you. The CMA, Darrel Smith and crew always give me support and for this I am truly thankful. The Wheels of Faith, can not say enough about this group, they are the most dedicated group I have ever had the honor to work with. ICVM, VOVMC, and all others who helped, I share the pats on the back with you. Snap I sincerely thank you for taking some of the missions load while I worked day and night on this, thanks brother. Now for the PGR, Catfish thanks for all my phone calls ensuring me this would go great, you are a leader all states should be proud of. Sheila, thanks for the shoulder, and the encouragement, could not have done it without you, you are a Ride Captain that our members should be very proud of, you staged, you showed, and I wont tell the rest of the story, but your new name now is Tequila Sheila. Roadstar Joe and Chewy who also have to put up with me at work, thanks for your support brothers. Dinky words can not express my sincere grattitude to both you and your wife. You stood by me, you gave me strength, and the whole event went off without a flaw. Twister, thanks for your travels and your support of the PGR, your appearance was so special to all of us, and you know that Alabama stands behind you 100%. I honestly feel with the over 120 bikes registered that 75% were PGR members, as they all showed their support for our heroes. Newspaper articles are still coming in praising us for making sure our home town heroes are safe. This I give to all of you because without my back bone I would of not been able to pull this off. Again thanks for all the kind words, but please share them with me as all of my friends made this event no one will ever forget. Congratulations to the PGR for one year of the greatest patriotism ever shown on this earth.
