I also will be on a ride that day for a ride for Officer Houts. But will be proud to see all of you at the Hospitality room that evening. I am looking forward to it. I must have missed which Holiday Inn though. Have a great and safe day.

Catfish, your one of the 9 rooms, that leaves me 4. So far, Twister, Catfish, Bair, CJ and I and the Hospitality Room is set. Need 4 more to take the ones left and then I'll reserve 9 more under my name again. Thanks, Dinky

Update on my plans...My wife works with a lady whose husband is about to join PGR (He didn't know about PGR until my wife was talking about the 2 missions I did last week), but he said he wants in. So, it will be me on my bike, him on his, my wife, mother, and his wife in the cage...I am currently trying to get some more, so I will keep you informed.

We will be getting hotel rooms in B'ham the night before, hopefully somewheres clost to the staging area, so I am waiting for the information to be released about that so arrangements can be made.

Dinky, I've made reservations but they gave me a different confirmation #. I assume that means no impact on your total room #'s.

Good Friday the 13th morning all. Jim asked me to post the following info.
Mr. Oliver, the General Manager of the Holliday Inn in Montgomery confirmed the 9 rooms Jim reserved will be $60.00 each, which is the military rate and he will not add taxes to this amount. There are 3 of the 9 left to be reserved. Three of the rooms are downstairs and are smoking rooms. These will be Dinky's, Twister's and the hospitality room. The other 6 are upstairs non-smoking rooms. Please leave a thread here and also email Dinky directly if you are interested in one of these 3 upstairs non-smoking rooms. All of the rooms are facing out with parking for bikes nearby.

There is a ROTC function starting Friday, Nov 3 and rooms are being booked for this also, so make reservations as soon as possible before all available rooms are booked.

If you need further info, or have any questions, please call or email Dinky.

Jedi~

You going up to Birmingham and then back to Ft. Mitchell? Or are you going Ft. Mitchell to Montgomery? Are you all going to be in Birmingham that week?

I  have not set  a restaraunt (sp?) yet and when I do that will be the staging for Phenix City on Saturday. Will post more the closer we get to that weekend. Call me if you have any questions.

Ride safe and take care~

Jasper Georgia will have a Veterans day parade. We could make a huge impact if we knew where parades were in regions of the state.

PGR is getting well known and is appreciated. I heard from a few civilians that they saw the ride from Jonesboro to Mccaysville. I saw some coming back when I was returning home from the Dacula mission.

sashockeymom, I will be going to B'ham the night prior, do the ride back down and then on to Montgomery. My mom has seen the PGR on the television, and is really exited about being there for this. I, too, hope there is a good turn out for this, not just for us in the PGR, y'all have been asking for a feel good ride. It will be good for the organization for one, and everyone involved. Plus, it will make my mother extremely happy. She is a member of the VFW Ladies Aux. and gets extremely furious when ANYONE has negative things to say about the military, so basically, PGR is right up her alley.

Koolness and Nick, you are booked in one of the 9 rooms that I have along with Catfish, Twister, Bair, Sashockeymon, CJ and I and the Hospitality Room. Only one room left and the local ROTC are making reservations the night before for the weekend. If your looking for a room, I need to know ASAP.

STAGING AREA is the parking lot of Home Depot on US Hwy 280 at 8:00 a.m. Kick stands up at 9:00 a.m. and will proceed to Phenix City for lunch. Sashockeymom is making reservations for lunch somewhere in town. After, (time permitting) we will make the loop around Fort Mitchell and then proceed to Montogomery via back roads compliments of Snap. We will arrive in Montgomery (Total trip 204 miles) and proceed directly to "Up The Creek" for dinner and to meet with other riders completing a fund Raiser for Officer Houks. Prior to arriving at Up The Creek, Snap will pick a location and we will stop and raise our flags then proceed in. A decision will be made 2 days prior about alternate plans in case if inclement weather. Afterwards, we will proceed to the Holiday Inn where Penguin has so kindly agreed to set up a hospitality room for all! However, I have not heard from a total of 40 riders yet that they are planning to comeing. I'm stocking this hospitality room out of pocket and I really don't want to stock a room with drinks and snacks if we're only going to have 10 riders show up.

Please remember that we (Sashockeymom, Snap and I) need a FIRM COUNT for reservations for meals and the hospatality room. Thanks.

Take care and Ride Safe. Dinky

19 Oct 2006 8:13 PM Alert
I am inviting anyone who maybe riding straight into Montgomery to join us at the benefit I am hosting along with Up the Creek Restaraunt. The restaraunt is off I85 Exit 6 about a mile from the interstate. The benefit will start around nine, and a block party with band will begin at 1600 hours, and now I have to sing because of all the support I am getting. I have also spoke with the General Manager and told them yall were coming, after arrival and we get a head count he will reserve tables for all. We will be manning a PGR booth at this event, manned by Rigger 1, Tinstar and Roadstar Joe, and hopefully Twister will be making an appearance. For the ones who are there we will take a 2 mile trip down the road to a local tavern, and be escorted by the MPD that will be closing down the Eastern Boulevard in support of Officer Houts. This benefit is in honor of Officer Keith Houts who we lost last month. The money will go to buy dash cameras for all MPD vehicles to insure their safety. The originator of this ride, who also served oversees as a Marine, Rob Proffitt was killed in a motorcycle wreck last weekend and he fought for his life in the same room as Officer Houts did. So with the help of his roomate and General Manager I have accepted the task in making his dream come true. This should be a huge event, and we welcome you all. I will ride in honor this day for the man who made this all possible Rob Proffitt. The family of Rob Proffitt has requested this event go forward, as they are so very proud of their son, and for his committment to his community. I concur with them, Rob was a true american, and I will honor their request. Dinky I will still be purchasing the items you requested, but will wait and see what you actually need. Please ride safe, and will be looking forward to seeing you all at the end.

Too early yet for me to know for sure if I can make this or not. Crazy work schedule. I'll keep in touch and try to make it if I possibly can. Bad weather means a cage. Lots going on that weekend, Ride for Kids (Teddy Bear Ride), at least 1 charity ride that I know of. Sure would like to make this one. I've been missing everyone.

Like Doc T, I am not sure what I have planned for the 4th of Nov.  This looks like an excellant opportunity to ride and relax and remember the wonderful missions we have accomplished and the heroes we have honored.
This organization is full of heroes that continue to focus on what is "right to do" not just what is nice to do.  The focus is on those who gave all for our protection and the families who are in grief, but yet honored to have had a son/daughter that did what was right for thier country.
I hope the trike is back up for this weekend, so I can join you in this celebration of this great organization.

Ride Safe and Blessed
