OK, I need to apologize to the NY group.
Mea Culpa, mea cupla.
Not knowing LI too well I found a Linden Blvd in Whitestone and I thought that is where the meeting place was. I was looking trough some old post forn a street name since Cesars Bay does not show on a map search.
I know that you mean that area on the south shore of LI across from Bensonhurst Park. Exit 5 on the Belt Pkwy east.
OK, OK, I am from Jersey ya know...
**** South Jersey riders **** We will leave the Cheesequake Rest area on the GSP at 7:40 AM Arrive early to gas up and meet just north of the pumps.

Folks,
Sorry I could not make it today to honor these fine Americans and their families.
As some of you might know I went down on my way to the south Jersey meeting area. I hit a patch of ice on the parkway on-ramp and the bike dropped like a rock.
I am fine thanks to good gear, the bike is kind of twisted.
Thanks to Rich for filling in for me, hope everyone had a safe ride and successful mission.

I would like to thank Scott, Johnny B, and Gus for arranging my personal meeting with Nr. & Mrs. Nelson. By far, my most difficult mission. I stand proudly tall as one of 60 thousand members of the Patriot Guard.

Because of the site going down on Saturday, all postings made till now have been lost.
So I want to say again, my most sincere thanks for honoring Sgt. Nelson
To all those who woke up early and rode in 30 degree weather, who stood calmly while a few tried to cause a disturbance, and to those who held flags by Sgt Nelson's gravesite, you are what the PGR stands for.
A very long day, and you all stood proud.
Well Done

| No words, no matter how eloquent, can express the gratitude and sorry of so many for the sacrifice of Sgt. Mario Nelson, his family and friends. And no words, no matter how venomous by a few, can diminish his memory and contribution. This is why we standby to serve and why like so many I was there on Saturday. Although I never met him, I will carry the memory of him with me always. God bless you and yours. |
