This one is close to my house and close to my heart. A Vietnam Vet ( Army-2 tours) passed away this Saturday from a heart attack. He has never had his "Welcome Home". He has spoken of this often to his wife Tracy. I have assured her he would be welcomed home this wednesday when he makes his last formation. I know we have a lot going on but I would consider it a personal favor for all those who can be there wednesday. Ralley point will be at the Walmart in Prattville Al. at 8:45, KSU at 9:15. If there is any way at all, please be there. The Walmart is West of I-65 at Exit 179 LLRB Snap ICVMC for PGR |

To the McCain Family:
I'm deeply saddened about the loss of your loved one, Larry. It took a lot for a Vietnam Veteran to complete one tour in the Nam. Larry completed two tours! That says a lot about Larry as a man, soldier, Husband, Father and Patriot.
To the PGR Family:
This one is close to home for me and a lot of the other members as well. Please see Snap's initial comments about Larry McCain below:
I'm looking for a large turn out but really would like to see a lot of Vietnam Vets at this one. This is the first time that I have ever asked for a particular (and ALL our welcome) group from within PGR but the wife stated that he was never welcomed home. I'd like for us to welcome him home at the graveside service and then say goodbye to one that gave more than his share for our freedom.
I realize that we have two missions close together and almost the same time, so if you have to decide and you are a Vietnam Vet, please try and make Larry McCain's mission. I'll be there along with as many as I can gather. I'll will announce a departure time from the Anniston area and pick up riders on the way to Prattville.
Thanks in advance. Dinky

Weapon in my hand, ready to roll Here we go again- our nightly patrol. Over here it’s the same thing, night after night Only difference it seems is whether or not there’s a fight. Sometimes it is easy-going, calm as can be It’s times like that which worry me. Gotta stay alert cause you never know If there is something ahead that’s gonna blow. One more time we’ll make our rounds Always praying to make it back to our “home” grounds. But if by enemy hands we are taken out tonight Just know it won’t be easy, it will be one hell of a fight. Whether we’re Army, Navy, Air Force or Marine We are the toughest boys you have ever seen.

I'm a new member - in a cage - near Chattanooga, TN. I'm a Nam vet, so I understand "no Welcome Home."
I'm working on clearing things so I can leave tonight to make it to the Prattville Wal-mart at 8:45 CDT tomorrow, or to the Oxford meet-up at 7:00 CDT with the NE Alabama group (see Dink Dau's post). Cell is 423-314-3444. If I'm going, I'll lose internet access tonight about 7 EDT. Hope to see you guys tomorrow.

We will be leaving exit 179 on I-20 at 8:00 a.m. and heading for Birmingham and then down to Prattville, exit 179. It would be easier and shorter for you proceed directly to Prattville. Give me a call if you have any questions. Jim
