| Condolences to the family and to the Sheriff's Dept for the loss of two officers. I was at a loss to hear that he and his K-9 partner perished in this fashion. I later learned that the suspect received his punishment. May God Bless the family and friends. Will keep them in prayers. |

I would like to extend our condolences and prayers for Deputy Williams, his family and his department from the Blue Knights Alabama IV. As a retired K-9 supervisor in Montgomery Alabama I take this very hard, especially in the manner of which it happened. Remember it takes a special person to pin that badge on, and for this Deputy Williams WE COMMEND YOU FOR A JOB WELL DONE. We wish you all God Speed.

Thousands of mourners are expected at the funeral Tuesday of a Polk County deputy slain alongside his canine partner. The funeral for Matt Williams and his police dog Diogi is scheduled Tuesday afternoon at Victory Church in North Lakeland.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said authorities looked for the biggest church in the city. Diogi will be cremated, and his remains will be interred with Williams at Auburndale Cemetery. |

I posted the following on Office Hout's thread earlier this morning. I sickens me and tears at my heart to know we've lost two great American heroes to those with no respect AT ALL for human life. May our Lord cast those responsible down with furious anger.
Deputy Vernon Matthew "Matt" Williams and Diogi: May our brother and sister warrior heroes and LEOs in Heaven greet you at the gate to escort you to the right hand of our Father. May our Lord's mercy and kindness bless your family and give them peace.
Your service and sacrifice to the people of a grateful nation shall never be forgotten. Rest easy, sir. Your mission on Earth is done.
Fallen LEOs always hold a special place in my heart. When I was a young boy, my father owned a small gas station and shop where every Saturday, the motorcycle brigade of the Jackson Police department would bring their bikes. Dad would tune them up and I would wash them with all the TLC I could muster. For years, no one else in this city was allowed to touch those beautiful Blue & White Harleys! Those men and women looked after me as if I were one of their own. It is with a heavy and tearful heart whenever I bid farewell to a fallen Brother or Sister in Blue.
I'll not be able to be there in body but my spirit rides with you, PGR.
Officer Williams, no pegs down here for you, sir. I can feel you riding among us on a Heavenly Horse of Blue and White Steel! |

The last word that I have recieved is that due to the expected turnout, only LE Agency Reps will be asked to attend. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. Although, I don't think attending as a concerned citizen would be frowned upon. Anyone wishing to ride together, please contact me.

We have contacted the Polk County S.O twice and also the funeral director. We have had no response from either which is understandable considering the magnitude of the loss and the size of the tribute that is being arranged for these two Homeland Heroes. Based on this, we are asking that the Patriot Guard Riders as a group stand down. However, we have heard news reports that the public is welcome. Any individuals that would like to go as members of the community are encouraged to do so. If you want to get together with other riders please work through mlparco from the post above.

I consider that we are blessed and privileged to be able to pay our respects to anyone who serves the citizens of this nation and has had the requirement of placing themselves "in harm's way".
This probably does not include civil servants who sat deskbound for 20 yrs and then retired.
It definitely does include ALL police and fire personnel whose families never knew from day to day whether or not they would return from a routine shift on the job.
Missions are not of the required attendance variety, and anyone who chooses to do so may "stand down" at any time they choose.
I choose to ride, pegs down.
God bless every one of them. Go before them, Lord and keep them safe.
Deputy Williams, Thank You for your sacrifice.
