Saturday Viewing Summary:
The weather was heavy rain and cold. We had four PGR members
present for both viewings, one a member who joined between the
afternoon viewing and the evening viewing, welcome Dan.; thanks Lee,
Kevin and my wife Alice for standing and honoring Sgt Bevington.
There
was one person and one point during the evening viewing that hit me
hard and I wanted to pass it on. A young women in her early twenties
tapped me on the shoulder looked at my flag and simply said "thank you
for the flag". Not thanks for being here, thanks for what you do,
something we often hear and appreciate; but "thank you for the flag". I
told her it was our honor. She then said "last time I talked to him, a
couple of weeks ago he said that there would be no flags for him when
he rotated home in November", "so thank you for the flags, he would
have appreciated them". I, for one time in my life, could not think of
anything to say, but did manage "It is our honor to stand". She then
said, "it's hard, it's real hard you know, turned and walked off into
the hard, cold rain.
This is why I usually wear sungalsses to the Missions, even at night

Our condolences to the family and friends of this Pennsylvania Patriot. Thank you Allan, for upholding and defending our Constitution.
To the family, thank you for Allan's life. You do not share this burden alone. He will not be forgotten.
To all who ride in Honor, Respect, and Support for this hero and his family, thank you. We will be there in spirit, from NE Pa.

Hollywood, thanks for sharing the comment from the young lady. I probably wouldn't have been able to even mumble "It's my honor." |

It's with a heavy heart that I will be unable to make any part of this mission. I know my fellow PGR brothers and sisters will be there to show Sgt. Bevington the honor and respect he earned and deserves.
Rest easy Sgt.

Frank and Erie Group....
The I 79 to Zelienople to Beaver route is not to bad. I rode it both ways today, going to and coming home from Franklin. The route 68 West to Rochester and Beaver. if that is what you are taking, is two lanes, road is good but up and down and windy... some sharp curves,,,,,,,,,,,,, careful...........only about 14 miles from Zelie to Beaver. Be careful in the morning there may be a lot of fog to contend with.
Ride Safe Lee Wentling |

Arrived home safely around 1600.
Kevin & Jesse...kudos are sent for an excellent job you both did in setting up this mission. Hollywood most assuredly left things in very capable hands. Thank you very much.
To all who stood in honor and respect for Sgt Bevington...a sincere thank you to each and every one of you for the time and effort you put forth to attend today's mission. Another prime example of how proud I am to be a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. A special "Thank you" is extended to all members of the Viet Nam Veterans M/C for their participation, assistance and support of Sgt Bevington and his family. I would stand with any of you, any time.
To Allan's family & friends...may God watch over and comfort each of you during your time of extreme sorrow. May you understand the supreme sacrifice that Allan made shall never be forgotten, nor was it in vain. He shall never be forgotten by all members of the PGR.
Photos available to those interested in viewing. If I don't have it already, send me your e-mail address to be included in the mailing.
Rest in eternal peace Allan.

To all those who came to the veiwings to pay their respects or stand vigil thank you for your support. To all those who rode on Monday I was honored to be in the missing man formation and ride with you all to show our respect to this true American Hero.
To Hollywood, Kevin, Joe and Frank thanks for all your help and guidance in the planning and execution of this mission. It was a pleasure working with you. This mission was a great success and my hometown and all who saw it will not soon forget it.
To the family and freinds of SGT Bevington it was an honor to be allowed to join in and pay tribute to this fine young man. Know that he nor his sacrifice will ever be forgotten by myself or any who where there. May God comfort you in this your time of need! |
