Any one interested in coming from Galesburg, I will meet you no later than 7:30 at the Walmart parking lot out front. We will be going up 150, dropping down to rt. 6 and thru Colona, Greenrock and up to John Deere rd. See you then. Also there are gas stations real close to staging area, in case anyone want to fuel up.

I'm afraid I will not be able to attend this Special Mission now. We have two Honor Missions in Iowa both of which will demand my attention.

Ride safe,

Gary,
Do you know how many will be leaving to go to Tyler's wedding?

Gary,
Just trying to find out who will be leaving early to try and make it to the wedding.  Also, people to ride with back towards Metamora.  I will probably decide in the morning if I will make the 3 hr trip to Silvis, sure would love to.

As Gary Schrock called me on Sat, his Road Toad, I have a few comments about this mission of "Hero Street". It was so great to see so many riders come from far and near to honor this street in Silvis. A special welcome to John Sample and his son, new members, both on their bikes for this mission.  It is people like you
that make me proud to be a member of the PGR. Eric, from the Lt Governor office, it was nice to meet you once more. Gary, you did a outstanding job as Ride Captain and your speach was outstanding when you talked in front of all at the"Hero Street" rededication about what our mission is of the Patriot Guard Riders. Nailer (Iowa Ride Captain) and Mike Bowman (Road Captain Illinois) it was a pleasure to meet you both once again. To all of the Patriot Guard Riders on this mission, thank you, it was my honor to be part of this group. Terry Hicks, support vehicle, thank you for flags and water.

Even though things didn't go exactly as planned, from our point of view, to an outsider it looked seamless. Timing was right on the money. We got the flag line set up and the color guard marched in soon after.

To me it felt a little strange to get applause and waves from the croud as we rode in and again as we left. I wasn't expecting that.

Very nice speach Gary.

Just wanted to pass on a request from one of the people attending the rededication, a gentleman from the crowd came up to me after the ceremony and shook my hand thanking us for the service we do. Then he asked me to pass that on to all of the PGR. Always with respect,

To all who participated in the Hero Street Re-Dedication ceremony your presence was appreciated by many. There were so many people who came by and made sure to stop and tell many of us "thank you for what you do" after the ceremony. It was humbling to say the least. Here we were in the presence of so many heroes' and they wanted to thank us? If you haven't read about Hero Street in Silvis you should go to www.herostreetusa.org and you will get a lesson in community patriotism.

Gary, good words for and about the Patriot Guard. Well said and well spoken. Eric Schuller, thank you for your kind words. Your recognition is appreciated. You and Lt. Gov Quinn continue to be our biggest supporters in state government. I do want people to know that it is not about us, it's about doing the right thing for all soldiers regardless of duty or branch.

To all who stood the flag line I say thank you and job well done. Without all of us working together we could not make the impression on people like we do. We gained membership just by being there on Saturday and making a huge impression on already patriotic crowd.

Gary, Max, Eric, another good mission accomplished.
