We are setting up a SURPRISE Send-off for PFC Aaron Hooten of Fortville, IN. Tentative time and date for this surprise: 6PM on Tuesday at the VFW in Fortville. Lobo (Jim Moxey) is preparing a staging area for any interested riders. We plan to stage somewhere near Fishers around 5PM or so and ride in to Fortville unannounced. Lobo is the RC in charge of this event and will post final details a little later on. Lobo's email address is: jmoxey@indy.rr.com
Aaron is the son of Andy Hooten, a VietNam veteran, and a real good friend of Eric Billman Commander of the Fortville VFW. Aaron's future stepmother, Julie, is an employee of the VFW. Aaron will be reporting to Camp Atterbury on Wednesday and is expected to depart on Thursday. PGR member Forrest Plank first told us of Aaron's deployment.
*Sorry Tim for the previous email difficulty. It was my fault. I somehow neglected to include the dot after @indy when I first posted Lobo's email address. It was too long of a day yesterday I reckon. I've since corrected it.*

I tried sending an email to Lobo. After 4 hours of trying it still has not been delivered to his mail box. So just to get the word out I am planning to show for this. I'm standing by in Kokomo for further instructions as to where we are meeting for the send off of this hero. Tim |

| UPDATE: PFC Aaron Hooten surprise send off. We will stage in Fishers, IN. at the SW corner of 116th and Cumberland Rd. behind the BP gas station in the Kroger parking lot. Stage at 5:00 PM with KSU at 5:30 PM. It is 9 miles to Fortville and will take about 20 minutes depending on rush hour traffic. Once we get to Fortville we will have a second stage at the Greenfield Bank parking lot, corner of SR67 and Merrill St. We will wait there till we receive phone verifiication from his step mother to let us know he has arrived at the VFW. We anticipate leaving for the VFW about 6:05 PM. We realize this is a very short notice and will be hard for some of you to attend. For those who can, it will be a great feeling knowing you were part of the fond memories this young soldier will have as he leaves for Iraq. We will probably only be there for 30 min or so. Would you please either post on the thread or send me an e-mail (jmoxey@indy.rr.com) if you can make it. Thanks LOBO |

| UPDATE: We had to change the second stage area in Fortville (Greenfield Bank) as it was to close to the VFW and they were afraid Aaron might see us there. The new area will be the city park on Church street. Take Merrill ST off of US 36 north 3 blocks to Church street, turn left and it will take you to the park. Anyone not meeting us in Fishers and planing on going directly to Fortville please meet us at the park and stay of off Main St as we do not want to ruin Aarons suprise. Sorry about the changes. All other times and places will stay the same as the orginal posting. Thanks, Lobo |

| Aaron, Thank you for your service to our country. If the Army would let some of us older guys back in to the military we'd be right by your side. Remember that you have more family and friends than one could ever imagine. You now have us in the Patriot Guard Riders you can consider family. Take care of yourself and try to keep in touch. I'm looking forward to meeting you tomorrow night. |

Aaron,
My oldest daughter is nine years old tomorrow, on 9/19. We will be with her for her special birthday dinner and night out resulting in my being unable to attend your sendoff, but know this:
It is men like you who make these things possible. The greatest joy in my life is my family and the time I spend with them in complete FREEDOM. We all know for a fact that without men like you, who do what you do, there would be no careless birthday parties, no spur of the moment get-togethers, and no tenting out under FREE and SAFE starlit skies. I have the utmost respect and am humbled for what you are about to accomplish for all of us. Stay safe, stay tough, and remember we ALL respect an love you like our own. You are a good soldier and a better man and I hope I get the chance to thank you in person one day.
Thanks, Brother -

Aaron,
I'm planning on being there tomorrow but wanted to send you this note. First, we're all damn proud of you. It will be honor to shake your hand and meet you!
I have no great words of wisdom or insights. You'll find that those things will come from within you. Listen to your guys that have time in country, you'll know who the bullshitters are. You'll need to learn fast. Take care and may God speed your safe return.
