These heros are home safely. The plane was 45 minutes early and they were in York at 1700 to be greeted by their families.

Just spoke with my contact in the U.S. Military Vets MC. A 30-bike escort accompanied our brave soldiers on their way to be reunited with their families. Thank God they're home!

Thank you everyone for all of your support. It is so nice to be home. Our escort back was absolutely awesome. The bus driver pulled in front of the bikes, which really "irked" me, and I yelled at him, but he wouldn't pull back. Either way, the escort was awesome, the guys were very impressed with the bike escort, as well as the families. Me and my family thank you. I am now home, and ready to join you on your mission. I do not have a bike, but I will assist with anything I can.

Welcome Home SSG Downey! So glad you enjoyed the escort. Sorry I couldn't get there, but it's quite a ways off for me. Sounds like the U.S. Military Vets MC did an excellent job pulling it all together in spite of some unexpected itinerary changes.
And thank you, again, from one who cares & appreciates ... and on behalf of about 60,000 others who feel likewise, part of what I'm sure is a big majority in our country.
You don't need a bike to ride with the PGR ... lots of us in the NE are 4-wheelin' it on missions with the weather being what it is right now, like me last Saturday and this coming Saturday (snow & ice make for some tough ridin').
So ... please keep an eye on the column at the right-hand side of the PGR Home Page for missions that you can reach. Hope we get to meet one of these days.
Ride on! Joe |
