13 Sep 2006 6:24 AM Alert

Final Itinerary for Veteran’s Day Parade, November 11, 2006, Nashville, TN

STAGING AREA: We will be staging between 17th Av. N. and 18th Av. N. off West End Av. 0900-0930. I will be there around 0830 to get us checked in. Uniformed National Guard Personnel will be assisting in the parade line up. Cages are welcome at this event, so if you are driving, have your flags flying also!! When you arrive to the area off West End Av., start looking for 17th Av. N., I will have someone up there to point you in the right direction to find us.

Coming into Nashville, you will take the Broadway Exit off I-40, if you are coming in from the WB you will turn left onto Broadway, coming EB you will turn right onto Broadway. There is a Shell station about 2 blocks down on the right, 17th Av. N. runs beside it.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. If you get misdirected that morning, call my cell phone listed below; I should be able to get you to us. Staging is near where I work, so am familiar with the area.

PARADE: The parade kicks off at 1100 CST. Parade Assembly Area begins on Broadway at 14th Avenue & extends out West End to18th Av., N. The last group to pass the review stand will be around 12:30-12:45.

AFTER THE PARADE: At the end of the parade, I have reserved an area at Logan’s Roadhouse for any and all to eat and get to know the rest of their PGR family, and to celebrate our one-year anniversary. I am going to try and get a head count once everyone is there so that I can let Logan’s have an idea of how many of us to expect.

RIDE CAPTAIN: Annette Robeck (Dreamcatcher) will be the RC; you can reach her via e-mail or at (615) 974-3046, if you have any questions.

Please have flags flying if you can!!

Would appreciate any and all riders for FUN this mission. Ride/Drive safely!

We in TN have an opportunity to participate in the Veteran's Day Parade in Nashville, TN.  It is on a Saturday.  Please let me know if you all are interested in doing this!

I have the info to sign us up as particiapants, but thought it would be better to get an idea of those that would be interested in doing this before we signed up.  It would be awesome to have bikes and cages there flying our Flags going down Broad with all the Veterans there and participating.

Please chime in!

I've committed to ride in the Veteran's Day Parade in Huntsville with the PGR in Alabama. If that were to cancel I would be honored to ride with my Tennessee PGR Brothers and Sisters.

We have the 3/4 scale of the Vietnam Veterans Wall scheduled to arrive in Nashville, 9/26/2006,  it will be displayed 9/29/06 to 10/1/06, 240' long.  There is a thread in Special Missions for details, hope ya can come see it or help with the motorcycle escort.

Hope to see ya at the parade on 11/11/06!

Welcome aboard SportyPig, are you riding or caging?  Both will be welcome in the parade, if you are able to fly flags, any size will be great also!

Jeff- If it is too cold or wet for you, ya can still come, cages are welcome, just hook you a flag up to your cage!!

Hey John, I would have to check finances, but Duane and I have sort of kicked around the idea of trailering the bikes down for the "Welcome Home Parade" on the 10th(work sched permitting)... hmmmm, may have to plan an overnighter. Have access to a trailer that will do 3 bikes...

Annette,
I didn't think you saw my post, but i'm in....not sure if i'll be in a cage or not, as i'm trying to get a ride (if anyone is willing to help out there).

Lynn

Cool, Lynn!  Looking forward to seeing you again.  Whether ya want to drive or ride, both will be welcome, have your flags flying or ready to fly by the time we line up.

I will have more details as the time gets closer, we have our application in and will be notified once they decide where they are placing everyone in the parade and where we will stage for line up.  Depending on where we are to stage for line up, I'll probably try to have a staging area nearby for everyone to get some coffee/hot chocolate before hand in case it is a tad bit cold, it was pretty chilly riding in this morning in the Nashville area around 0600!!

Looking forward to meeting old and new family again for a more festive mission!

I'll be riding.  I have a small flag (around 10" x 13" I think)  It's basically a car flag I've modified to attach to my bike.

ANNETTE: What time will we need to be there in Nashville? I will probably be spending the night around Murfreesboro.

LYNN: Duane and I are looking at trailering our rides down to do the welcome home parade on the 10th, then this one on the 11th. If you want a ride, you can choose between two comfy rides, and both riders have experience 2-up.

JOHN: are you gonna chime in on this one or not son? If you plan to ride with us, we will need to make sure the trailer will do three, unless Anthony is coming down too.
