Wayne (fyrdude) will be in charge of getting the Flag Line set up Wednesday afternoon at William Chrisman in preparation for the visitation.  Any volunteers that can arrive at 1600 hrs to assist in getting the Flag Line ready, would be greatly appreciated.

Are we gonna be staging anywhere in particular for the visitation Wednesday night or do we just meet up at Chrisman HS? I should be there close to 5PM with a guest.   Where is the Burial and will we be invited to the graveside services?

Unfortunately, due to my work schedule I will not be able to attend this mission.
I know Eric will do a great job handling everything as he has always done and I am sure my PGR brothers and sisters will do their very best to show our support and respect for this fallen hero.

May God be with each and everyone of you while you attend the services for our hero and his family.
Ride safe everyone and God bless all of you for doing the great things that you do.

I plan to make the trip from Des Moines. Given the early morning meeting time, I may come down the night before but if anyone else from central Iowa is going Thursday morning, please let me know and I may adjust those plans.

If any of our members have a van, we could use some at the services on Thurs. If you've ever been exposed to Samoan culture, you understand the significance that flowers play in their society. Mt. Washington has requested the PGR's assistance in transporting all of the flowers from ST. Mary's to Mt. Washington.

If you have a van, or covered pick-up, or if you have a car and just want to help, please find an RC to offer your services.

Thank you all, for all you do.

Larry,
The principal of the school told us that we could park the bikes along the east side of the south parking lot.  It is fairly flat and should be easy to get in and out of. I will try to get some cones from work to mark the area.  Burial is at Mount Washington and yes, we will be invited weather permitting.

Betty,
I will be arriving around 4:00 pm to begin setting up flags around the parking lot.  Feel free to show up then, I only have about 150 to plant!
Thanks, Wayne

My wife and I both intend to make the visitation on Wednesday and the services on Thursday.  We will be riding our bike to work tomorrow because I don't get off until 5pm so we will be going straight to the visitation.

We are ready to honor Mr. Fuga and be there in support of his family.  This mission holds something special for us.  We lost our granpda, a vietnam vet, just a couple months ago and he was also buried at Mt Washington.

So, we'll have an extra rider with us tomorrow and Thursday.

God Bless Staff Sgt. Mike Fuga.

To the Family of SSgt Fuga, my sincere heartfelt condolences.  As a fellow Southwest Airlines employee, I know he will be greatly missed at the Kansas City station!!  I wish I were able to attend as PGR, but I am not able to get off work at the Dallas Station!  Know that you are all in my prayers as fellow SWA family, as well as fallen military!  God Bless you and grant you peace!  Know that he will never be forgotten!  If there is anything you need, please feel free to contact me.  If I can help in any way at all!

I hope to be there in time for the 5:00 Visitation time tomarrow and be there on Thursday as well. I just returned from the Mission in Topeka today and of the two missions I have had the honor of attending, so far, I have been in the rear as the Tail Gunner in case any problems come up along the routes. Please consider my offer in any fasion needed. As I said, I will try very hard to be there on Wed. by 5:00 P.M. Hope to see everyone there.
In the mean time, I send my family's deepest regrets to Staff Sgt. Fuga's family and friends. I also send my sincere condolences. We will miss our Brother at Arms very much. "Tail Gunner"

What is the estimated time for the conclusion of the funeral and beginning of the escort to Mt. Washington?  I plan to ask a few people to be somewhere along the route with flags.
Thank you,

I made my first mission in Topeka yesterday and must say that I was very impressed with the professional manner in which everything was handled, the brotherhood and sisterhood which was evident in abundance was very moving.
Being allowed to participate in the Missing Man formation behind the Hearse was especially moving and respectful.
I plan to be at our fallen brother Staff Sgt. Fuga's visitation and Services and can be there early if needed for either and or. again I appreciate the fact that this is being done to Honor our fallen Vets.
Respectfully.

To the Ride Captain:
My mom has expressed an interest in joining to help for the funeral (her first mission). She would be driving a cage, and if you need a SUV. Do you still need large support vehicles to help with the flowers? Also, she could bring a cooler full of water, do you need her to do this? Just let me know what you need.
Thanks,

I want to thank everyone who came out and assisted at the visitation. I couldn't have planted all those flags without the help. You know who you are.

PGR:

For the family of Staff Sgt Fuga, thank you for allowing PGR to be present at the visitation. We (PGR) all extend our sympathy for your loss.

To PGR: Tonight, it is raining. In the event that it rains during the mission tomorrow, and someone dislikes riding their bike in the rain, you will be welcome in my convertible cage.

I think we're good on water.  I think we'll still need folks to help move flowers from the church to the cemetery though...
