Prayers and condolences to the family of Sgt. 1st Class Howard. May God bless and comfort you in this trying time and may you know that you are not alone in the mourning of this American Hero. Merideth, rest in peace and find joy in the open arms of you Fallen Comrades as they welcome you home.

Just received a request from the husband for the PGR to attend a Clebration for Sgt 1st Class Howard on December 29th, 2006. Further details to follow when received.

Stand Down. The family will hold services in TX and CA later in 2007 (currently planning for Dec of next year). It is the current intent of the family to invite PGR, at a later time, when final arrangements are finalized, next year.

September 11, 2006

DoD Identifies Army Casualties

            The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers, who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

            They died in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Sept. 8, when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV. Both soldiers were assigned to the Army Reserve's 405th Civil Affairs Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C.

            Killed were:

            Sgt. 1st Class Merideth L. Howard, 52, of Alameda, Calif.

            Staff Sgt. Robert J. Paul, 43, of The Dalles, Ore.
