Yes, no hard feelings, no big deal that they didn't show.
I would like to know what the story was however.
Also, are they home, coming home, enroute etc...???

Hey Bruce! Glad you got your ride back in the wind! I've missed y'all!! Charlie and I are passing each other in the passageways these days (one of us is always coming and the other is always going...) but if I see him I"ll ask if he heard anything about what happened to Friday night's mission.

I leave again this Friday for a week. When I come back we'll have to get together for a ride and a cold one. My schedule's been so crazy I haven't even had the opportunity to introduce my husband to anyone. My friends at FatBoys are beginning to doubt he even exists!

Cya soon enough - until then, ride safe!

They laid down their lives for us. The very least we can do is stand tall with respect for them.

To the Greatest bunch of people I've ever had the privlege to know or be associated with,

Status of Friday's mission:  Good question....The date/time of the arrival was provided by DC2 and that is what we went by.  I spoke with 2 people here in Norfolk from his parent command today who have not heard or know when they are returning.  Sounds a little strange to me, but it's all I have for right now.  I emailed DC2 Nick Shurmantine for some info, as of this a.m. I had not heard from him.  Know that I'm staying on top of this and will advise all once I hear/know something for sure.

I wanted to personally thank everyone for showing up on a late Friday evening, I was so proud when I called Les while I was in Michigan and he kept saying the number was going up.  As I started this post...you all are the greatest.   For those who have been on missions thanks for helping Les out and I know he appreciates the assistance.  Hopefully we will find out a status soon.  If they did arrive early and we missed them maybe we can get together with them at Boneshakers?  Just an idea.  If we didn't miss them and they just haven't arrived then we will do what is right and try again.  Hopefully I won't be underway when that happens.

Thanks again,
R/
Charlie

To All,

I recieved an email from DC2 Shurmantine and it stated that their Lt. was able to get them on the earlier flight.  So they are home safe.  DC2 apologized for not being able to get a call out to us.  Stand by for a possible post here from him.  He thanked everyone for coming out.

Charlie

Hello,

Hey guys my name is Nick Shurmantine.  You guys were riding the mission for me.  Let me first say Im sorry I feel like a S-bag.  Once we got off the plane in BWI my LT went and got all of our tickets changed.  His flight took off like 45 minutes after he booked tickets and we were stuck in BWI with out a phone to call and let everyone know.  One gentlemen was nicest a enough to let us use his phone and I didnt want to take alot of his time.  I told my friends to give Charlie a call but I guess that didnt.  So once a again I am extremely sorry and if there is anything that I can do please let me know.  I feel like a jackass!!

Hey Nick,

Well, you might be all of those things that you wrote, I can't say because I haven't met you yet! But I can say this, I am thankful and relieved that you and your men are home safe and sound! Welcome back to the good ol USofA!!

As to what you can do to make up for the FUBAR. After you and your guys get settled, you can round them up and join with us for a few cold ones at one of the local watering holes where, as Woody puts it, some back slapping will ensue.

Looking forward to meeting you and your guys. Welcome home!
