To the Shank family:  I send you my deepest sympathy for your loss.  I honestly can not imagine what you are going through.  My husband is a crewchief on the Blackhawk and is with the 2-25 AVN.  He was stationed with your son in Hawaii and traveled to Iraq with him as well (he is also from Malden, MO!).  My mind is in a constant worry for my husband, as well as all the soldiers serving our country.  It is very difficult to have a loved one sent to defend this nation, but it's just what "we have to do".  You all are in my prayers.

Thank you Jeremy for taking the call and standing for our freedom.  Without people like you, I wouldn't have the life I have today.  God bless you, soldier, and rest in peace.

Many Blessings

Amy

May God strengthen and comfort you in this time.

I believe that all of heaven has already welcomed home Pfc. Jeremy Shank.

Now it is time for us to welcome home this American Hero.

Soar now like an eagle in the sky, as over all you’ve known you fly,

Soar up and into the light, Heaven’s gate is now in sight

Enter the fulfillment of your belief, where there is no sorrow or grief,

Safe now from all that harms, rest in God’s loving arms.

I was born and raised in K.C., MO. and now from a distant corner of this country I send my condolences to the family and to Pfc. Jeremy Shank, our Amerian Hero, I send my thanks for his sacrifice and respect and honor for his service.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of this young man. Whether war, disease, or accident, 18 is too young and too painful. May God bless this family and surround them with comfort, peace, and love.

Lest I keep my complacent way, I must remember that somewhere out there a person died for me today. As long as there must be war, I ask and I must answer: Was I worth dying for?

Thanks to the Casualty Assistance Officer, Captain Scot Ratcliff getting me in touch with Pfc. Jeremy Shank's father Jim this will be a confirmed mission.  I will make it official when I get home from work this afternoon after I visit with the folks at McComb's Funeral Home in Jackson.  We have been asked to escort Pfc. Jeremy Shanks home from Lambert in St. Louis and the funeral will likely be later this week, probably Saturday.  As soon as we get the transport schedule from Dover, we'll post the itinerary and staging information.  Monty, hope the kids didn't beat up on you so much this weekend that you can't help us at Lambert again.
