Thank you to all who emailed and posted that you will be there.
All the roads look good coming in except the M-81 exit off of I-75.  That will just take a few minutes to get through and the rest is smooth sailing.  To those who are doing both missions please drive safely and thanks for being the American Patriot you are.
Thank you to the Chuck Wagons and the cagers with the flags.  This is going to be a successful mission because the Patriots will be there in HONOR!

I'm hoping to scoot out early for lunch (and be AWOL from work for awhile) for the mission if chaos at work doesn't prevail. I have to leave back for work when the family leaves the church, so I can't do the escort to the cemetary.

SSGT Eugene Alex
Thank you for loving this great nation so much that you would selflessly serve for each of us.  You are our hero!  It has been said, "Sad is the nation who has no heroes, worse is the nation that having heroes has forgotten them".  You have joined the great cloud of witnesses cheering us on. We will never forget your service.  We will not falter! We will not fail!  We will not weaken!

Mrs. Melissa Alex, Austin, Zackary, Autumn
Thank you for sharing your hero with us today. Abraham Lincoln once said, "I pray that our heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.”(Lincoln to Mrs. Bixby 21 Nov 1864).
Our prayer for your life and family is that you will be able to go on in the Strength of God each day. The Patriot Guard counts it a great privilege to have been able to stand in honor with you for SSGT Eugene Alex. Let us know when you are in need of something; we will do what we can.

To General Bartley, SGT. Allen, the honor unit, and each soldier in attendance to honor SSGT Alex, thank you for serving our nation so selflessly!  We hope that you live each day knowing that there are Americans who respect and honor you for your service.
Thank you Pastor Tom Senge for the service and helping the Patriot Guard stand in honor.  We look forward to having your assistance in all that the Patriot Guard does.  Welcome aboard.
Thank you to Chief Mike Hadd and the other L.E.O.'s for your assistance today.  Reese is a better place with public servants like you.
Thank you to Jerry and all the team at Ware Smith Funeral home.  You helped us accomplish our mission today.

Thank you laceName>EastlawnlaceName> laceName>MemoriallaceName> laceType>GardenlaceType> and Paula for your assistance at the cemetery.
Thank you
laceName>ChristlaceName> laceName>LutheranlaceName> laceType>ChurchlaceType> for the wonderful meal you provided today
.  Church meals are the best.

Mission Report:
Thank you Larry, Chuck, Thor
for your leadership.  You make the MI Patriot Guard a great place to stand in honor.
Welcome aboard to all of our new Patriot Guard members.  You are what makes this organization strong.  Invite your friends to join us for a mission.

We had 42 Patriot Guard show to honor SSGT Alex.  We appreciate those who rode and those who were in the proverbial “cage”.  We are Patriots!!  Thank you to all who put aside your life today to make this happen.  OF COURSE the coffee, the water, the sticky buns, the cookies … It was all awesome!  What about a chili cook-off after a mission?  We have an awesome mobile mission center ... another time.

Thank you to the Blue Knights, we are always glad to have you with us. Not only do I appreciate each of you who helped in the escort to the cemetery, but also those who went ahead to have the honor line ready.

It was awesome how you guys lined up at the church.  That made the area a “Circle of Hallowed Ground” many people noticed it.

Welcome aboard T. A. Stewart. Thank you for giving the commands for us today.  Thank you for serving our country, 66 missions on Marine One.  What a job, eh?!

Most of all, thank you Patriot Guard for your honor.  Honor is a gift, it cannot be demanded..  Each of you stood today in honor because it is in you.  Thank you!  You are the best!  I know we have to meet again on Wednesday and we will stand “to give honor where honor is due”.  I’ll see you there!

God Bless you all!

Ride Safe!

Sam

Great post Sam. I would like to add a thank you to the hardware/paint store on the corner of Reese and Washington. While standing there to alert incoming PGR riders, they supplied us with hot coffee, which was greatly appreciated after a cool ride. A nice gesture.

Thank You Sam for the great write up on the mission summary, and for all the hard work and organization you do to keep things going in the right direction. It was an honor to stand with you ( and the others that were there) for SSgt. Alex. See you all in Shields tomorrow. God Bless to all.
