I need some more details on this ride.  Times and the exit number for this Ocean Springs.  I can possibly get the bike equipped and there by 11:00, but I have seen no firm times on this yet.

G'morning, Furbird.  Hope you see this this morning.

Last post was above:
"...Heritage Funeral Home on Hwy 63 (exit 69) 3 miles north of I-10 outside of Gautier, MS...."

Last email from Ed was St. Joseph Catholic Church at 4114 First Street, just off of Martin Luther King Blvd. in Moss Point. on Saturday, September 2. The service will start 1pm.
Seems like we'll escort from the Funeral home to the church, but as usual I could be wrong on this.

Best bet is to try and be at the stage; I-10, exit 69, Ocean Springs, MS by 11:00 AM.  Post a phone number (cell?) here.  I'll leave my house this AM at 0625.   If things change, I'll call you.

I found the listing for this funeral home, which is on Hwy. 63.  I tried calling the Funeral Director a little while ago but there was no answer, but I did speak with the answering service.

I was told that the Funeral will be today at 1:00pm at the Church (not the funeral home).

They also told me that the burial will not be until 9:00 on Tuesday next week.  Until this information is verified by folks in MS, I would treat it as tentative until someone actually speaks with the family representative or the funeral director.

The service advised that there should be someone at the funeral home by 8:30am this morning.

I want to apologize to all those planning on attending this mission and to the family for all this confusion. It was unintentional and uncalled for. I am normally much better prepared for a mission, even short noitce missions, but I let things fall through the cracks by accident.

From the family

Ed: From the family of Capt Peter Bellone:

Please pass along to all who participated our sincere thanks! The family was caught totally off guard and was sincerely impressed that anybody, especially those that did not know Peter personally, would take the time and spend the money they know it took to pay tribute to a fallen soldier . It was a wonderful thing to do!

Sincere thanks from all of them,

For the Bellone family,

Giff

The LadyTrog and I just made it in and wish to also thank all that made the mission today. Special thanks to all the New Guys! You each stepped into the role in an outstanding manner. I know I'm not alone in telling you how proud I was to both ride and stand guard with you in honoring Capt. Bellone today. I salute you one and all.
Lonnie and Ed: excellant job, gentlemen. You can both stand proud of the effort today. I don't feel any apology is necessary at all. Today's was a well coordinated and fine tribute for this great soldier.

To the family of Capt. Bellone, I can only say how honored we were that you allowed us to pay tribute to your hero. He is now our hero as well and he will never, EVER be forgotten!

To his son, MSGT Bellone, I listened to your eloquent description of your father and knew instantly how much he meant to you. I know he still does. I also know he is among an extraordinary band of brothers in our Father's House looking down upon you with a tremendous pride of his own for you, his son, an awesome warrior in your own right. I hope that thought eases some of the pain of this loss. But never forget, we are here for you. If you ever need us, just call.

Finally, to the two vets from the VFW in attendance today that held their salute as they passed along the line of our honor guard, along with all the individuals present that gave their own salutes as they walked by, I thank you with all that I am.  It is such a simple gesture that makes tears of pride flow down my cheeks and makes my heart jump into my throat.  You each showed the deep respect for our nation's colors that so many of us have fought and died for.  Even the non-military among our riders feel that swelling within their own chests.  I offer to you my most humble thanks.  May God bless you all.
