This is a CONFIRMED MISSION:
Dick “thingy” Powell was killed last night in a single motorcycle accident while returning from the San Mateo run home to Marana.
Dick was a Korean Vet serving in the 82nd Airborne, a member of the American Legion Riders, and a PGR supporter never missing a mission.
Linda and family are in our thoughts and prayers, they have given much and lost much.
Arizona has lost a beloved Brother, American has lost a Hero.
I will post further mission information as it becomes available.
Patriot Guard Members are called to Alert as we honor a family who gave us much, and allowed us to become a part of their own family.

FROM: Linda Patterson, President & Founder AMERICA SUPPORTING AMERICANS (ASA) www.ASA-USA.ORG
I don’t know where to begin to tell you how much this sad news affects ASA today. In the brief moments we met and together celebrated a grand occasion... the tragic ending... one of your riders fell. Now being one of OUR own, I know that my brother Joe was there to lift Dick up and take him to meet all fallen soldiers where they are at peace now.....Dick’s wife Linda, his family and all American Legion Arizona Riders are in our thoughts and prayers today. Please let us know where services may be held so ASA may send our condolences….

When I was a young sergeant, in the mid 60's, I served with a Korean War vet. I never forgot his tales of freezing in foxholes and fighting while his fingers and toes were numb. May our Heavenly Father comfort Linda, Richard, Kathy, Keena, Julia and all of Dick's loved ones and friends. May the Lord wrap His loving arms around a American hero, Dick "Thingy" Powell. In Jesus name, amen.
