An unbelievable mission. The threads below describe it all.. from emotional level, the support level, the mission level, and yes ... even the weather level. I am sure, that as "Willie" Thorne looked down upon the event, even he was humbled as he stood next to Him. You see... I don't believe it was only HIS tears yesterday that we felt. But one can cry while smiling. You folks (the PGR) are incredible and I am humbled to be associated with so many that give so much.
Thanks to Mark, Tommye, Bob-o, Karen and many others from Alton and Le Mars that were so hospitable to an out of towner... I'll wear my Double D beads with pride and hope we can meet under more "sociable" circumstances next time!. Taker lite !!

Hello!

I am just another Iowan and patriot, who found out about PGR, while reading about the death of Pfc. William Thorne. I am awed by the commitment and dedication of PGR members to honoring their brothers and sisters who have served, not just in writing, by by your actions. While reading about PGR on the web, I was reminded of a quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt, which seems to best convey the honor due our fallen heroes, who have dared to serve:

"He stands in the unbroken line of patriots, who have dared to die that freedom might live and grow and increase its blessings...
Freedom lives and, though it, he lives, in a way that humbles the undertakings of most men."

If you are able to pass on my appreciation to PGR members for me, I would greatly appreciate it, as I was unable to find a way to do so on the web site. I salute you all, and keep you in my prayers,

Sincerely,

Margaret Nevius

Gentlemen,

Willy was my wife’s nephew, and on behalf of her and the extended Vogelzang family I wish to say that the presence of yourselves and your organization both Friday evening and Saturday was very moving for all of us. We deeply, sincerely appreciate your show of respect and support, especially in light of Saturday’s weather. Please extend our gratitude to the other members of your group.
