Andy,
Can you give us any more details on the funeral for Staff Sgt. Williams (where and what time) on Wednesday afternoon, 9/6? I am trying to figure out whether I can also make the welcome home mission for MSgt. David Byron at BWI on Wednesday afternoon. Either way, I will be at the staging area at Wendy's on Northern Pkwy. by noon in order to honor SSgt. Williams and thank him for his service and sacrifice. God bless him and his family.

Central Maryland
On Thursday, September 7th, I will establish a rally point at Rip's Restaurant (Rt 301 and Rt 197, in Bowie) at 0715 for those who wish to attend the escort to Arlington NC. We will leave at 0730 and travel north to I-97, then west on I-695 to exit 18a. East on Liberty Rd for 2 miles then left onto West Northern Parkway. It is one mile to Wendy's.
It is approximately a one hour ride, and it will give us time for a cup of coffee, and maybe that missed breakfast.

I Remember You
When I walk into my church, free and without fear, I remember you.
When I see children playing in the school yard, girls and boys of all kinds, I remember you.
When I see families working together, regardless of religion or nationality, I remember you.
When I go to sleep without worry for my family's safety, I remember you.
When I see our flag waving in front of my home, and when I can salute that flag without fear of reprisal, I remember you.
When I remember you, I think of the sacrifices you made so I could have these things. I think of your commitment and your service beyond mere duty. I think of all that you have given so that I and those whom I love can be free.
When I pray at night and give thanks for the blessings God has given, I remember you.

SSG Williams.... Rest in Peace Marine. It was an honor indeed to be part of your escort to Arlington National. The pride your family felt for you was evident in their eyes and their voices. The pain is sharp and sorrow deep. I wish them peace and healing... and the knowledge they do not grieve alone...
To the family, thank you for allowing us to be present. Thank you for the honor of having us provide the escort. He will always be remembered.
