Additionally: The VFW on Chinden Blvd in Boise has invited us there after the mission. Would be a good place and time to decompress after the mission and to meet and greet in a relaxed atmosphere.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. Jeremy E. King, 23, of Meridian, Idaho, died on Aug. 24, in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained by enemy forces using small arms fire during combat operations. King was assigned to the 8th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

I was at the Boise VFW this morning, having volunteered to wash dishes for the Post breakfast. During a coffee break, I unfolded my newspaper only to see the headline "Meridian soldier remembered as a friend to all." on the front page. I hadn't seen anything in the local press/TV about Sgt. King so I was rather taken aback to see the article about the death of a local resident.
Jeremy, rest in peace, your mission is complete.
My deepest condolenses to the King family for your great loss, peace be with you in your time of sorrow.

I won't be able to attend, as I'm back into full time teaching. Sending prayers, thank yous and condolences to the King family for giving our country the ultimate sacrifice, one of their own family. I'm waiting for the itinerary update so I can update the POW-MIA in Pocatello. They would like to send a contingent down to honor Sgt. King and his family.
