On behalf of SFC Ruben Villa Jr.'s Family

I would like to thank you for all your prayers and support during our time of sorrow.

Ruben was a proud soldier serving his country for 18 years.  He had completed a tour in the middle east from 95-96.

He was about to complete his current tour with an arrival date set for Sept. 7th.

He had been home in EL Paso, Tx.  for 2 weeks of leave at the begining of June for his birthday.

He was getting ready for his next duty assignment which was to be in San Antonio, TX.

Upon his return, he was looking forward to spending a month here at home with our family. (his mom, sister and nephew)

Ruben was a proud father.  He had a daughter and became an instant father to 3 step children who he loved like they were his own. Even though they were not his kids, to him they were, since he raised them from the time they were of pre-school age.  They also loved him like a father calling him "dad".

I will always respect him for sense of duty, honor and responsability, for which 21 yr old would take on so much responsabily as to raise 4 great kids.

We would also like to thank the riders who showed so much respect for someome they never met.

I know every one would have loved him if they would have met him. He had a big smile and would give you the shirt off his back. Always ready to lend a helping hand  or to  pick on his  sister.

His Brother ( in-law)

David David..........

Had some awful  thunderstorms over night in the W Tx and Srn NM area, thus really cut down on the numbers.  We did have 7 bikes and 2 cages.  Everyone came prepared with flags.  Not going to mention names as I'm embarrassed to say I have a lousy memory and forgot half.  Suffice to say we did have one rider out of Albuquerque and another from Alamogordo. We staged as advertised and rolled into the parking lot across from the church with time to spare.  15 minutes prior to the arrival of the hearse we were deployed on either side of the doors. Procession to Ft Bliss  had close to 75 vehicles.  AT Ft Bliss we formed behind one of the honor guard units. Following the service we quietly returned to our bikes. Two of Sgt Villa's relatives followed us over and thanked us for coming. Told them it was our honor and privilege and thanked them for their families sacrifice.
There were 2 tv stations in attendance, 1 of which requested an interview. He started off asking who PGR was and how/why we formed. I downplayed the Ks bunch an he understood so that when we did the on air interview he didn't mention the Ks bunch.

Would like to thank BikerBride (Pam) for the use of her Windstar to transport the flags from the church to Ft Bliss. This saved a lot of time as we did not have to take the time to disassemble and reassemble the the flags.  She also was thoughtful enough to bring coolers with water and gatorade.
