Ok folks, I recon'd the mission today.

Staging will be in the KFC parking lot at 3601 Gateway West, on the corner of Gateway West and Copia. This is exit 22a Copia St off of I10.  Staging will be 0800 with kickstands up at 0830.  The church is less than a 5 minute ride.  Mass is scheduled for 0930, thus we will have time to get parked an in position for an honor guard prior to the arrival of most attendies.
Flags please poles or not.......

Final Itinerary for Sgt 1st Class Ruben J. Villa Jr., El Paso, Texas, 31 Aug 06

This is the Final Itinerary for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor Sgt 1st Class Ruben J. Villa Jr. This mission is a "go" as the Patriot Guard has received approval from the family to pay respect to this fine soldier.

Ride Captain: Roger "Cowboy" Mead

Staging Site and Time: From 0800 to 0830 in parking lot of the KFC located at 3601 Gateway West, (Exit 22a, Copia St.), El Paso, TX.

Departure: All members are requested to complete the Liability Releases prior to safety briefing. The safety briefing will begin at 0825 hours; KSU at 0830.

Services: The Funeral Mass will begin at 0930 at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church located at 3021 Frutas Ave., El Paso, TX 79905

Internment: Departure (KSU) from the Guardian Angel Catholic Church will be 1030 – 1045 hours. We will be riding approximately seven (6) miles to the Fort Bliss National Cemetery (5200 Fred Wilson Blvd, El Paso, TX) where he will be buried with full military honors.

Weather Report: Partly cloudy with a morning low of 68 degrees and a daytime high of 86 degrees.

Bring flag poles and flags if you have them. Flags mounted on bikes would be great, but if you have to "cage" it, bring your big flags anyway, plus any extras that you may have.

Please remember that our mission is to honor this fallen soldier and pay our respect to SFC Villa’s family. Stand tall and be proud as we salute an American hero.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt 1st Class Ruben J. Villa Jr., of El Paso, Texas, died on Aug 18, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from a non-combat related cause.Villa was assigned to the Army's Area Support Group (CFLCC) , Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

The incident is under investigation.

This is a Confirmed Mission as we have received permission from the family for the Patriot Guard to attend Sgt 1st Class Villa's funeral. The funeral will be in El Paso, TX on Thursday, August 31, 2006. We will post an Itinerary as soon as possible.
