Staging area will be in the parking lot of the Winnsboro Flea Market/Auction. If traveling from the north (I-20) take the Archibald/Rayville exit & go south, go through Winnsboro on Hwy 15 to the 6th traffic light and look to the right and you will see the parking lot. If traveling from the south: Come up Hwy 15 and at the first traffic light, the staging area is to the left. If coming from the west on Hwy 4, take a right off Hwy 4 onto Hwy 15 and go to the 2nd light, staging area to the right. If coming from Delhi area or Jackson, Ms area, take the Delhi/Winnsboro exit off I-20 & go south on Hwy 17 into Winnsboro, turn left at the light by Fox’s Pizza (loop road) go to the traffic light at Loop Rd and 15 and you will see the staging area. Mike has asked me to step up as RC (so bear with me) Staging will be at 0900 hrs, briefing at 0915 and will pull out at 0930. The funeral home is only about ¼ mile from the staging area. No shade at staging area and very little at funeral home but ample parking. From the funeral home to the cemetery is about 1 ½ miles and no shade at cemetery. My wife will bring water. Weather calls for sun with a high of 95 and only a 20% chance of rain but since this is an early morning mission maybe it won’t be so hot. I will post any further info if it becomes available. Email me if you have any questions. If anyone has large flags, please bring them. I only have 1.

Ride Report for CPO John William Griffing, Sr. (ret) US Navy. WWII & Korean veteran
As with typical Louisiana weather, the initial weather report called for a 30% chance of afternoon showers. When I awoke this morning it was partly cloudy and a fellow PGR member enroute to this mission called me from Ruston and said it was raining so hard he had to return home and get his cage to attend. With this being such a short notice mission and a Thursday I figured turnout would be light. Myself, Cuthru and Horsepen (all the way from East Texas) all arrived in cages due to the severe weather. As we stood outside under the awning entrance of the funeral home, each of us holding 3 x 5 American flags, many family members and guests greeted us and thanked us for attending. Due to the weather, the gravesite service was canceled and the entire service was done inside at the funeral home. The US Navy Honor Guard marched into the Chapel and folded the flag that was drapped over CPO Griffings casket and presented it to his daughter. At that point the rain had subsided somewhat enough for everyone to gather under the front awning of the funeral home and the Honor Guard gave the gun salute and played taps in the parking lot. After the funeral, the family was so kind as to invite us to the church for lunch.
CPO Griffing will be laid to rest after the storms subside at Myrtle Cemetary in Winnsboro next to his wife. Thank you CPO John William Griffing, SR for you patriotism and your dedication to this country that has ensured our freedoms as Americans. Rest in peace soldier.
Also thanks to Cuthru and Horsepen for driving the long distances that they did to honor this American hero.
