This will be a two-part mission. Part one takes place at the Hooker Creek Convention Center, in the fairgrounds, in Redmond, 29 Aug 06 Part two is transportation to, and services at, Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon, 30 Aug 06. Details for both parts will be forthcoming shortly.

August 22, 2006

DoD Identifies Marine Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of two Marines who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
 
Cpl. Adam A. Galvez, 21, of Salt Lake City, Utah
 
Lance Cpl. Randy L. Newman, 21, of Bend, Ore.
 
Both Marines died Aug. 20 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. They were assigned to 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

My sincere condolences to the Newman family, Cpl Randy Newman's friends and those he touched on the road of life.
He's a hero that will never be forgotten and one of 20 Marines in the 3rd LAR at Camp Korean Village that my wife and I have been sending care packages to for the past 5 months.
