08-20-06 12:45 A.M. Deployment Escort

And send-off

For the

NEBRASKA

755th National Guard unit

On September 5th(Tuesday) at 1400 hrs, this unit is moving from the Nat’l Guard Armory located at 72 Mercy Road in Omaha, to the Nat’l Guard Camp in Ashland Nebraska. They have asked the PGR and the ALR to escort them to their destination. The following day, the 6th, and 1800 hrs, they are having a send-off ceremony for all of them in Lincoln (location TBA).

This send-off will be the largest on in Nebraska history, over 1,000 people are being deployed from here.

Chuck McWilliams from Channel 7 Weather Dept is one of the officers leading the Unit. I am in the process of trying to get the police to give us an escort also, so that we don’t hang up traffic too much on 72 to the Interstate, to Hwy 370, then 6 to Ashland. They will notify me this week.

I would like for everyone to muster up at 1330 at the armory on 72 St. so we can get set up for the ride.

This is a very important mission, as are all, but these folks need to know that we back them a 100%, so lets see if we can show them what we are made of.

I most definitely need a headcount, so that I can advise the police as to how many there will be. Please E-mail me at ( VSTARRIDER03@MSN.COM <mailto:VSTARRIDER03@MSN.COM> .) ONLY THE ONES WHO SAY YES NEED TO ANSWER!

The following day on the 6th, they are having a Deployment Ceremony for them at 1800 hrs in Lincoln, ( place to be announced). If you would like to attend that one, I don’t need a head count for that one. We will meet at the BP station by Werner Trucking at Hwy 50 and I-80, at 4:00 and depart at 4:15 sharp. We might possibly escort back to Ashland, but I’m not sure at this time.

Thank you for all your support,

Cliff Leach

"I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

ITENERARY UPDATE(ALREADY)

FOR THE DEPLOYMENT ESCORT IN OMAHA

THE ONLY CHANGE SO FAR IS GOING TO BE THE STAGING TIME. I WOULD LIKE FOR US TO BE THERE AT 1300 (1:00) p.m. SO THAT WE WILL HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO LINE UP IN POSITION FOR THE ESCORT. I HAVE TALKED WITH THE POLICE DEPT, AND THEY ARE GOING TO TRY AND BE THERE FOR THE ESCORT, BUT THEY HAVE THE SEPTEMBERFEST PARADE GOING ON WITH ALL THOSE ACTIVITIES, SO WE MIGHT NOT HAVE ONE. I KNOW THEY WILL DO THEIR BEST TO HELP US OUT, SO KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED.
THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
