To the Family of Captain John J. McKenna, I send my deepest condolences to you. I had the pleasure of working with you son in Uzbekistan. He was an incredible person with a great attitude about life all the time. We always talked about NY and what he was going to do when he got out. We worked at Cherry Point for about 3-4 years together. Last week when i was up in NY for Leave, I was reading the Newsday, and saw a picture of John, and i thought to myself, i know this guy, and as i read on, my heart and body just sank into the chair i was in. It was very hard to read on and and find out what happened. I Salute John and you for raising such a man, that everyone enjoyed having around and for his courageous and heartless contribution to everything that he has done. Thank you!

Sincerely
Peter J. Rubenacker
Sergeant USMC

He will always be remembered

Standing by to support on the Saratoga end.

God bless you, Capt. John J. McKenna, IV.  Your job here is done.  It is because of the blood that you and others like you have shed that we have all the rights and privileges that we embrace on a day-by-day basis.

Thank you, Captain, for volunteering to put your life on the line for people like me and my family.

To the McKenna family,
While you go through this time of much hardship, please remember that your son did something that many others before him have done.  It shows the type of character that you have, and that you would go so far as to instill this into John so that he would put his life on the line for me and my family.  It pains me to only be able to sit here and say Thank You.

God Bless.

This mission has NOT been confirmed. Until it is confirmed, please, folks, use emails to contact one another. If it is not confirmed, you would be going as private citizens to show respect for this fine Marine. We will post confirmation if and when we hear from the CAO.

I know that all of us are ready to show our respect for this young man.

My thanks to you all

this is not a confirmed mission, as of yet, but there are a lot of us going as private citizens to show our respect for a Man that gave us the freedoms we have today. We will not be in the Cemetery, but will be lined up on the Road facing the Cemetery. We need not show any special colors, we just want the family to know we care !!

Rest CAP, You have been an honorable and courageous warrior ....and it is time to lay down your load.... Stride lightly into your rewards, past Fiddler's Green ...to that part God's Grace that you have earned and deserve... I only wish that we could capture your spirit and show it to others so that they could emulate it.

At your next command, may I serve with you.

I just saw that the wbc have on their website this service as another target for their evil protesting. Even though this service did not become a PGR Mission, I do hope that eneough "concened citizens" were able to attend incase the wbc did show today.

Again, my deepest condolances, support and respect to the family and friends of Capt. John J. McKenna IV.

Thank you Sir for your service, may you now rest in peace.
