God bless Capt. McKenna for serving bravely for our freedoms. Godspeed. Our prayers are with his family in this time of loss. We Standby in Albany. It is my understanding he will be buried in Saratoga National Park here. We will be there if needed. He was a State Trooper so I assume there will be a very large honor guard Presence.

Regards,
Rick

I just read this article in our local paper about Lcpl Glover and Captain John  McKenna, Capt McKenna gave his life trying to save Lcpl Glover, who, you will see as you read this article, was the type of American that should be a role model for our youth, and in that same line, so was Capt. McKenna. It is always a shame to lose one great American, but to lose 2 men of this calibur in the same incident is a tragedy- see the story at http://www.newsday.com/news/local/longisland/ny-lisold0820,0,6170916.story?coll=ny-longisland-homepage Our nation lost 2 of its very best, their families should be extreemly proud to have raised such wonderful men, my thanks to them for giving us LCpl Glover and Capt. McKenna, I am eternally grateful.

Hello everyone,

I am a friend of John's. I found your website this morning when I did a search for his name in google to see if there were any new news stories.  I just wanted to say how amazed I am at your respect and dedication you have for your cause. I admit, until today, I did not know that PGR existed but I think it is a wonderful and I will check back often to see how things progress with you.

John was an amazing guy-- There are not words that I can type to express what it was like to know him, but my life is better for knowing him.  You are right, he was a great role model for younger kids and he loved his little god daughter.  Thank you for taking them time to think of him and his family. I know they will need all the support and prayers that we can give them right now.

Much appreciated,
Jen

For the family of Captain John J. McKenna IV:

I can only imagine what you and your family have gone through since being notified of the death of John. I want you to know that you are not alone.  Hearts of families all over the United States are grieving with you and have your family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

LIFE...so fragile.    LOSS... so sudden.    HEART...so broken.

In time, there will come a day when the tears of sorrow

will softly flow into sighs of remembrance. Your heart will begin to heal itself.
Grieving will be interrupted by episodes of joy; & you will hear the whisper of hope.
There will come a day when you will welcome the pangs of remembrance

as a sun shower of the soul; a turning of the tide; the promise of peace.
There will come a day when you will risk loving,

go on believing, and treasure the remembering.

John was a very good and brave man. You have much to be proud of. He has not left you, but has been re-deployed to Heaven. I wish that I could ease your pain and sadness, but it will be a long, slow and painful climb.  Pain this deep will never go entirely away, but I pray that as each day that passes the hurt becomes a little less. And the memories of a lifetime will sustain you. These memories are your keepsake that can never be taken away.  God has John in his keeping, but you have him forever in your thoughts and hearts. We pray that our Savior – in whose presence John now rests – will comfort you and ease the pain of this loss and that your memories of him will shine through the sadness.

Rather than mourn the extinction of the stars,
Let us celebrate, and always remember how brightly they burned.
Their fire will live on in our hearts forever.

May God Bless our brave soldiers
Who have made the ultimate sacrifice
So that we may live our lives in freedom.

We are forever grateful.

Possible Mission for Capt McKenna - Possible Mission for Capt McKenna

I spoke to the Lt. Col. In charge of Captain McKenna arrangements for the family. We are still waiting for a response from the family. Capt McKenna’s funeral service will be in Brooklyn this Friday August 25,2006 and after the funeral service he will be laid to rest in Saratoga N.Y.

If the Patriot is called to attend the services it will be a very large motorcade and can get very confusing and dangerous for the Police Dept and State Troopers. So if we are called upon we will attend the services and lining the route in the streets. We will most likely will NOT be going to Saratoga. But the north east members of the Patriot guard will meet the funeral procession at the cemetery. I am asking every Patriot Guard in the both area to make every effort to attend the services if we are called upon.

  Thank you

      Gus

NY State Captain

If we are called upon everybody will be meeting at Cezars Bazaar in Brooklyn off the belt Parkway. Please keep an eye on the web site for all upcoming information and any possible changes.

A simple verse for this hero:

Soar now like an eagle in the sky, as over all you’ve known you fly,
Soar up and into the light, Heaven’s gate is now in sight

Enter the fulfillment of your belief, where there is no sorrow or grief,
Safe now from all that harms, rest in God’s loving arms.
