THIS IS NOW A CONFIRMED MISSION, THIS IS NOW A CONFIRMED MISSION

I was just contacted by a family member that informed me the family requests our presence at the celebration of the life of Cpl. Joseph A. Tomci.

Initial information-

Services will be held on Monday, 14 August 06, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow, Ohio.
at 1030.  Therefore, expect staging at 0830 and "Flags Up" at 0930.

Internment of this American Hero will be at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman Ohio following the memorial services.

I am now in the process of assigning an Ohio Ride Captain for this Mission of Respect and will advise in this thread when that is determined.

This thread will be transfered soon to the Confirmed Mission Forum.

I was informed by this family member that our reputation is outstanding among the Marines, the Funeral Home, friends and aquaintances.  How honored I will be to be in attendance, and how proud I am of all members for the reputation earned by them.

This is a first for me to be contacted directly by a family member.  I assured him, our members will stand proud, respectful, honored, and with a heartfelt sorrow for the loss of their loved one, and our Brother, our American Hero, our defender of our freedoms.

Enjoy your life and freedoms, for a most costly price is being paid for them. Support those that pay that price, and sacrifice, FOR US.

ITINERARY UPDATE:

The funeral service for Cpl. Joseph Tomci will be held on Monday, August 14 at 1030 hrs at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 3450 Sycamore Drive, Stow, Ohio, 44244. We have been granted permission to stage in a parking lot at the corner of Hudson Drive and Front Street (State Route 59), Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, 44224 just 1.5 miles west of the church. There are several reasons for staging in this location but local police strongly suggested staging to the west of the church due to the intersection of State Route 91 and State Route 59 is an extremely busy intersection. Staging will begin at 0815 hrs. (All Times are Eastern). The pre-ride announcements will commence at 0900 hrs and we’ll move from the staging area to the church at 0915 hrs, flags up at 0930 hrs.

Interment is at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery which is approximately 30 miles west. At this time there is no additional information on the funeral procession from the church to the cemetery. Update to follow as soon as I have more information.

The weather forecast as of today for the Akron area is scattered thunderstorms and in the 80s. Bring your rain gear and give yourself plenty of time so there is no reason to be in a hurry.

Staging facilities:
Across the street is a gas station and there were no eateries close so I would suggest you bring a snack, sandwich and water.

Directions to the staging area:

From NW Ohio Area:
Using Ohio Turnpike exit at Exit 180 (State Route 8)
South on State Route 8 make Left on HUDSON DRIVE
Left on FRONT STREET and immediate make a right into the parking lot

From SW Ohio Area:
Find your way from Cincinnati to Akron area (Hint I-71)
At Exit 209 Take Interstate 76 EAST to Exit 23B, North on State Route 8 (is also State Route 59) until State Route 8 and State Route 59 split (Front Street and State Route 59 are the same road)…

From SE Ohio Area:
North Interstate 77 and Exit at State Route 8, North on State Route 8 (is also State Route 59) until State Route 8 and State Route 59 split (Front Street and State Route 59 are the same road)…

From North Eastern PA Area
Follow Interstate 80 West / Interstate 76 West until Exit 23B. North on State Route 8 (is also State Route 59) until State Route 8 and State Route 59 split (Front Street and State Route 59 are the same road)…

My sincere, heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of this true American hero.  May you take comfort in knowing he is now standing guard at Heaven's gates, in the proudest tradition of the Marine Corps.

Cpl Tomci.   Pahradddde Rest!  Thank you for your outstanding service to the country you loved.  The sacrifice you have made has not gone un-noticed by your fellow Marines and countrymen and we, the 49,000 members of the Patriot Guard will do what we can to pay you the respect and honor you have earned.  May you forever rest in peace with the promise that those who remain behind will never be alone in this world.

Bob, although unable to give you a firm committal at this time, will make every effort to attend this mission and offer any assistance I can.  If my health permits, I will be caging as my ride is still in for repairs.

Thank you Corporal.  Your duty here is now fulfilled, mission complete.
